To block this car in...

I'm at my mum's. she lives on a a fairly narrow hill, you can park on the road but it's best if you park half on the pavement. I'm going camping for the weekend with friends who are coming to pick me up in an hour. I've just popped to the shops for supplies of crisps and wine and some cheeky bugger has parked on my mum's drive.

I've text all my family and no one has any knowledge of this car. Would I be a total arse to just reverse onto the drive right upto their bumper and leave my car there for the weekend? I really don't want to leave my car half on the pavement for a whole weekend. A few of the NDNs have double buggies and there won't be enough room for them to pass. I also don't want to leave my shiny lovely car under the tree on the road cos it will be covered in bird poo and tree sap when I get back.

Mum is also away this weekend too so I can't even leave the keys. Grrrrrr.

I've only posted once on this thread so far but can I just point out that what had happened is what I predicted had happened ages ago!

MuddlingMackem · 18/08/2014 19:53

Just looked back GhoulWithADragonTattoo and so you did. Grin

Really? That old chestnut!! Bleurgh de bleurgh bleurgh, "how rude!", ranty rant rant...opps, caught out. My bad! Actually meant to park on New Castle street not New Cresent road.... Someone read their local maps before they came back for shiny car.

Alternatively, people do rent out their drives for local airports etc etc (clutching at straws)

A happy ending ....... bah humbug [cross]

FiftyShadesOfGreen4205 · 18/08/2014 20:41

It may have already been mentioned on this thread, but you can watch a thread rather than place mark.

Vintagejazz · 18/08/2014 21:33

I am fascinated by the fact that the guy presumed he was parking in a driveway a friend had kindly given him permission to leave his car in; then returned home to find a car behind his which I presume he assumed belonged to a family member of the friend in question; and then thought it was okay to kick off and verbally abuse the 'family member' when they opened an window and starting talking to him.
Totally weird and unacceptable behaviour.

diddl · 19/08/2014 07:41

"Really? That old chestnut!!"

That occurred to me also.

As PP says, why would he shout at Ops sister for letting him borrow the drive?

SirChenjin · 19/08/2014 08:00

Exactly. There is no way he would have shouted at the person who opened the window of the friend's house. He knew exactly what he'd done - probably heard on the grapevine that there was an empty house for a few days and decided to park on the driveway.

Littlef00t · 19/08/2014 08:08

I think you should contact the house on the other street to find out if what he said was true, just to keep the story going

prettybird · 19/08/2014 09:11

Makes me wonder if the house on the other street just happens to be For Sale and empty - hence his belief that he could get away with parking there? Wink

BerylStreep · 19/08/2014 09:54

Oh yes, check it out with the other address. Pleeeease?

BoneyBackJefferson · 20/08/2014 00:13

I wonder if it is possible to get a thread to 1000 posts with minimal input from the original poster Hmm Wink

Bouttimeforwine · 20/08/2014 10:23

Yes I think that was his prepared response for being caught out.

Thumbwitch · 23/08/2014 16:24

Whew, am I glad I only came to this thread after the update! Grin

Bloody idiots - they'd have been well served if you had towed it away.

Did your sister not re-park your car on the drive after the EntitledConfusedTwats had left?
