To block this car in...

I'm at my mum's. she lives on a a fairly narrow hill, you can park on the road but it's best if you park half on the pavement. I'm going camping for the weekend with friends who are coming to pick me up in an hour. I've just popped to the shops for supplies of crisps and wine and some cheeky bugger has parked on my mum's drive.

I've text all my family and no one has any knowledge of this car. Would I be a total arse to just reverse onto the drive right upto their bumper and leave my car there for the weekend? I really don't want to leave my car half on the pavement for a whole weekend. A few of the NDNs have double buggies and there won't be enough room for them to pass. I also don't want to leave my shiny lovely car under the tree on the road cos it will be covered in bird poo and tree sap when I get back.

Mum is also away this weekend too so I can't even leave the keys. Grrrrrr.

Where is OP? I must know what happened.

Ages ago I lived in a town where parking was a real premium as there were locals and tourists trying to park there.
Went out to my car to pick DH up from work about 9pm only to find another car parked actually touching mine, no way I could get my car out. I called to local police station and gave them the reg number, they called the owner and asked her to move the car. She did!

DartmoorDoughnut · 15/08/2014 19:16

Love the fact we have a on the move parking thread!

fairgame · 15/08/2014 19:17

This is all very dodgy. Why would someone dump an expensive car on a random drive?

OP have u checked the boot for a body??

offtoseethewizard64 · 15/08/2014 19:17

Just reminded me of the story of when my next door neighbour took his car to the garage in our village to be serviced. The garage very kindly drops your car back and puts the keys through the letter box if you are out when they call.
NDN was getting concerned that his vehicle had not been returned and phoned the garage to be told they had already returned it. It wasn't on his drive. Turned out they had returned it to the house around the corner - same number different street and posted the keys through the letter box. Unfortunately the owners of that house were away on holiday Grin. Fortunately, being a village, someone knew where a family member lived who had a door key and came and retrieved they keys!

BloodyUserName · 15/08/2014 19:21

looking forward another update. This thread has had me hooked.

Misssss · 15/08/2014 19:21

The lift still isn't here. I'll be pitching my tent in the dark soon. The police should call my sister back soon - hopefully they will have called the owners too. NDN +3 has just said that maybe the owners have gone walking. It's definitely locked, hoping there's no body in the boot!

Selks · 15/08/2014 19:34

I am amazed to think that someone would just park their car on someone else's drive and just swan off.....must be stolen or something, surely!

LaChatte · 15/08/2014 19:34

tobiasfunke · 15/08/2014 19:35
