I'm at my mum's. she lives on a a fairly narrow hill, you can park on the road but it's best if you park half on the pavement. I'm going camping for the weekend with friends who are coming to pick me up in an hour. I've just popped to the shops for supplies of crisps and wine and some cheeky bugger has parked on my mum's drive.

I've text all my family and no one has any knowledge of this car. Would I be a total arse to just reverse onto the drive right upto their bumper and leave my car there for the weekend? I really don't want to leave my car half on the pavement for a whole weekend. A few of the NDNs have double buggies and there won't be enough room for them to pass. I also don't want to leave my shiny lovely car under the tree on the road cos it will be covered in bird poo and tree sap when I get back.

Mum is also away this weekend too so I can't even leave the keys. Grrrrrr.

But what happened with the car? I must know!

I've also got a spare folding chair if anyone wants to sit down.

Either someone has accidentally parked on the wrong drive (eg visitor to a neighbour's house) or the car is stolen and has been abandoned.

Abandoned cars can be claimed by someone else, I believe. This is how LaQueen's dh lost a BMW - he left it outside their old house when they moved (iirc, he had just got a new car, and was going to sell the older one, so drove the new car to the new house, intending to go back for the BMW) - some months later, he saw it for sale at a local garage, recognised it, and asked the garage owner why they were selling his car - and it turned out that the car had been left for so long outside their old house that a neighbour had reported it abandoned, claimed it and sold it to the garage.

LaQueen's husband can now never complain of any over-expenditure on her part, because he lost a whole car!

Update = no fucking update. Alien car still here, no one knows anything about it. The neighbours are quite excited and are doing a new neighbourhood car watch. They are actually nicer than I thought, I've not lived here for about eight years and I was a bit of a brat when I was younger so its probably skewed my perception of them. The bloke directly opposite has offered to get his mates to tow it off the drive but I'm afraid it will be damaged and the cheeky cunt will try and bill/prosecute me. I need a clean dbs (otherwise I'd have done time long ago).

I've reversed my PNC right upto it. It is about a centimetre from it's bumper. They only way they can get out is if it can do some helicopter type flying shit! My sister is going to text me updates. There's wifi at this glamping camping site so I'll get on my phone and update.

I'm interested in the claiming thing though - is that true? I reckon that's at least thirty grands worth of car right out there. I could be rich!!!
