To block this car in...

I'm at my mum's. she lives on a a fairly narrow hill, you can park on the road but it's best if you park half on the pavement. I'm going camping for the weekend with friends who are coming to pick me up in an hour. I've just popped to the shops for supplies of crisps and wine and some cheeky bugger has parked on my mum's drive.

I've text all my family and no one has any knowledge of this car. Would I be a total arse to just reverse onto the drive right upto their bumper and leave my car there for the weekend? I really don't want to leave my car half on the pavement for a whole weekend. A few of the NDNs have double buggies and there won't be enough room for them to pass. I also don't want to leave my shiny lovely car under the tree on the road cos it will be covered in bird poo and tree sap when I get back.

Mum is also away this weekend too so I can't even leave the keys. Grrrrrr.

Place marking Wink loving this parking thread has cheered my dull day up Smile

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 15/08/2014 18:18

I think it's a gift from admirer who went tobuy a big roll of ribbon as an afterthought. On the way back from the shop, he was knocked over and not badly hurt but he's lost his memory.

Just for you londonrach!

To block this car in...

My hero....thank you vest. Sighs... So green and so cool. Who couldn't love him. (looks at buttercup syrup and wonders how much alcohol is in it)

vestandknickers · 15/08/2014 18:22

Step away from the Buttercup......

Partridge · 15/08/2014 18:23

Place mark. I am loving the idea of the op watching the space whilst simultaneously watching the thread that is being watched by so many.

FreeSpirit89 · 15/08/2014 18:24

Place mark!!! Cheeky cheeky

londonrach · 15/08/2014 18:24

...but I have pain in my mouth and it tastes nice vest.... Come on op we need an update or else kermit will drove off in the car. Maybe I need to step away from the buttercup syrup.

KissMyFatArse · 15/08/2014 18:24

Partridge I love that description! Very true..

bottlecat · 15/08/2014 18:25

I think the car dealership has delivered a new car to the wrong address. In which case it's now your car OP. Honest.

Place mark

Unlabelled · 15/08/2014 18:30

I think it's one of the neighbours having an affair, knew mum was away didn't think they'd get caught far fetched

Littleturkish · 15/08/2014 18:31

Hopefully police will be able to contact the owners and find out what they think they're playing at!

Fluffyears · 15/08/2014 18:32

On mil's street everyone parks with two wheels on kerb and two on road. If they didn't there would be no space to drive along it. A few people have turned front gardens into drive ways but it is really narrow and there is no nearby parking. If they didn't park like this ambulances etc would not get along street, there is a turning circle at the top of the street.

We have an allocated space and regularly find people in it Angry we actually pulled up as one of the cheeky fuckers came back to their (shit) car. I pointed out our obvious house number and the entitled cow who was driving said 'we'll you weren't using it!' Not the point we need it now and we fucking paid for it. I told her I owned it and she better get off my land lol.

KissMyFatArse · 15/08/2014 18:33

Fluffy well said! I don't get the brass neck of some folk!

Strokethefurrywall · 15/08/2014 18:33

I never knew parking could be so exciting!!

Partridge · 15/08/2014 18:34

It's basically over 200 people waiting for the cheeky fuck to come back.

Lezprechaun · 15/08/2014 18:35

Block it in and let them walk all weekend. I would call the police and explain you are going away, need to park your car on the drive and have no other option to block this car in unless they are able to come and move it. Then go and enjoy yourself. Set up CCTV for us to see the reaction though when the cheeky sod gets back :)

Partridge · 15/08/2014 18:35

Imagine us all sitting with you. In your front room. Twitching your curtain.

Bouttimeforwine · 15/08/2014 18:37

unlabelled probably not as far fetched as you think

Come on. The car must have been moved by now or the op has gone camping and blocked them in. Either way we've been left hanging...

Tis not fair

Unlabelled · 15/08/2014 18:38

Anyone for a G&T?

Fluffyears · 15/08/2014 18:40

Kiss it gives me the rage, our house number is clearly marked. Last week it was workmen taking up three spaces including ours, there are loads of visitor spaces that are free but as ours is nearest front door they like to go in ours. I walked up to the workmen and asked for £50 when they asked why I said 'cos that's how much I charge for using my space.' Then said I would call their office to get address for sending invoice out, they moved sharpish.

Nanasueathome · 15/08/2014 18:40

This is getting ridiculous now
Have not eaten dinner yet, not even cooked as I have been watching this thread
At this rate I will be having a midnight feast
Perhaps a gin will help me along a bit.......
Just a small one for now

FastWindow · 15/08/2014 18:41

Yes please labelled I've got some ice and lime wedges, fancy some?
