To think pictures of your cock are probably not the best way to strike up romance

And wonder why lots of men appear to think it is.

I've been sent 4 photos of cocks in the last 4 days obviously I have given no invitation and haven't asked or suggested people send me pictures like this. And it has been pretty much within the first 2/3 texts after handing over my number intending to arrange a date.

Is this some new practise I'm unaware of?

I'm so glad I've never received one of those! Although I might send a picture of boobies in reply...

GertieFinkle · 27/07/2014 08:57

One of my colleagues got a cock pic, we dutifully gasped, clutched our pearls and then laughed heartily about what a loser the bloke was.

deakymom · 27/07/2014 08:59

send back a text saying sorry you did not impress the judges on this occasion
or
so i forwarded it to my friend the doctor who agrees it really should not be that colour
or maybe
congratulations you made it to the cock off final just off to post it on faceboook i will let you know if you're the winner!

edamsavestheday · 27/07/2014 09:02

My friend's internet dating and a LOT of men send cock shots after only one or two messages. Horrible but apparently common.

Call me a pearl-clutcher but yuck yuck yuckety yuck.

What are these poor deluded men thinking? Do they honestly believe their cocks are so beautiful than any woman privileged to have a view will immediately surrender to their dubious charms?

msrisotto · 27/07/2014 09:02

We'll have an epidemic in the future where guys will be hopelessly lonely, looking for love by sending pics of their dicks to nice girls and wondering why they're alone.

Bunbaker · 27/07/2014 09:03

I must lead a sheltered life. Is it the done thing for young men to do this these days? What kind of message are you giving out that encourages a man to do this? Or are they adolescents? How do you know that they haven't just downloaded the image from the internet?

Latara · 27/07/2014 09:04

When I start Online Dating again I hope I don't get any cock photos!

If I do receive any then I would text back to say, ''why did you send me that photo??'' because I'm curious as to what these men are actually thinking!

cod · 27/07/2014 09:04

Lol at poultry.

Bunbaker · 27/07/2014 09:04

I suppose it is a quick and pain free way of separating the wheat from the chaff.

Lottapianos · 27/07/2014 09:06

I don't get this at all. Surely the only effect it has is for the woman to piss herself laughing and delete the bloke's number? I would think a bloke who did this was seriously dim. And very sleazy. And gross.

Like squoosh said, you only fancy the cock when its attached to a fanciable man - not the other way around!

edamsavestheday · 27/07/2014 09:08

Bun "What kind of message are you giving out that encourages a man to do this?"

Missing the point horribly. These sleazy guys with a hugely inflated idea of their own desirability send them to any woman who has their number. It is horribly common. Please don't fall into the trap of automatically blaming women for male misbehaviour.

Bunbaker · 27/07/2014 09:10

I didn't know it was common practice, hence my old fashioned view. I find the whole idea so utterly tasteless. I would be quite offended if anyone sent me an image like that and wonder why they thought I would appreciate it.

However, I am of a different generation to many posters on here.

deakymom · 27/07/2014 09:10

realistically i suppose it solves the whole fitting question i mean if your preference is for huge or teeny pee pees a quick text saves you the hassle of actually getting to know the person first

still think its gross though

BirdhouseInYourSoul · 27/07/2014 09:11

ugghh I hate this so much.

Every now and then I start internet dating again and it's these crappy pictures that always make me drop it after a month or so!

I usually reply with something along the lines of "would you drop your pants and wave your cock in front of my face uninvited if we were talking in the same room right now?"

I wonder if it will progress that way? You're in a nice bar having a drink with friends, you catch the eye of some bloke standing at the bar and smile.... he promptly drops his trousers, waggles his cock about and does the suggestive eyebrow thing....

I mean, what should you do next if you think he's quite good looking? a kind of "huh, not bad I guess" face and pull out your boobs? Or a thumbs up? It's not like you could do the coy eye catching smiles after that is it? :)

Smilesandpiles · 27/07/2014 09:28

Thank you for reminding me about this. I was toying with the idea of maybe, just maybe, dipping my toe in the water that is dating...I shan't bother now.

KleineDracheKokosnuss · 27/07/2014 09:39

I'm so glad I married before the advent of What's App.

GhettoFabulous · 27/07/2014 09:41

This is funny and true:

NeedsAsockamnesty · 27/07/2014 11:01

bunbaker

Perfectly normal none rude conversation and its usually straight after they get my number.

These are not young men the youngest was 40

Send text back saying you don't know what it is and you've had to show it to various people, including your friendly local policeman to help you identify what's in the photo.

Lovingfreedom · 27/07/2014 11:15

So presumably these guys just get off on sending cock pics? They are not looking for dates?

Flipflops7 · 27/07/2014 11:18

It's so weird! I alternate between thinking it will become a criminal offence sometime in the future and we will see actual trials, and wanting to rewrite literature to cover this trend. "Oh Mr Darcy, the image of your tumescent member sent me into a swoon ..." kinda thing.

Diorella · 27/07/2014 11:18

ha ha ghettofabulous!

i love the text 'what's that? it looks like a dick except smaller'.

BUT, I wouldn't want to engage. No point, as somebody said, handy for sorting the wheat from the chaff

ApplebyMennym · 27/07/2014 11:19

I think some women do enjoy it. There are plenty of women out there looking for no strings sex, just as there are men. And yes they do send unsolicited pics of their boobs and bits.

Obviously anyone who decides to send a picture of their genitalia in the middle of a pleasant conversation about gardening is rather misguided, but certainly don't kid yourselves that NO women like it.

NeedsAsockamnesty · 27/07/2014 11:20

I think they are hoping to come across a woman who may get all excited after seeing their cock instantly disrobe send rude pictures back and have phone sex or something.

But there are specialist sites for that why not use them

In the last month I have had no less than 12 cock pics, one even went to the effort of writing my name on a piece of paper and holding it beside his cock before taking picture. I have also had 2 videos of wanking and one of some idiots ex giving him a blow job.

It's all very bizarre. I haven't dated for 14 years, I'm not sure I'm cut out for it anymore if this is what happens.

As response to the pics I usually ask where they got their duvet, wallpaper or whatever else I can see in the pic from. It doesn't please them Grin
