Every time a UKIP person speaks, they want to say rape within marriage is ok, Lenny Henry should go back to Black Land, bit too scared to stand in a by election just now...yet

PEOPLE ARE STILL DESPERATE TO VOTE FOR THEM.

What hope is there? Humanity is as truly doomed as ever.

So according to the Guardian article, there were 764 British citizens living in Poland and 550,000 Polish citizens living in the UK.

There were nearly 400,000 UK citizens living in Spain and 128,000 Spanish in France.

Most of those citizens are probably likely to be retirees who are not working. Most will probably have bought their properties abroad.

"Net UK migration increased to 212,000 in the year to September 2013, pushing it further away from the Conservatives' target of below 100,000, according to official estimates."

Spain is the place in Europe where most UK citizens emigrate to and there are about 400,000 of them living there - a large proportion who are relatively well-off retired property owners not working or seeking work.

It seems that every year, approx 200,000 is the net immigration figure into the UK, so in 2 years there will be as many new immigrants to the UK as there are UK citizens living in Spain altogether. How many UK citizens emigrate to Spain per year?

dawn

Oh thank god for that!!!

I would have to leave mumsnet.....or at least change my name Grin

claig · 03/05/2014 14:24

Sorry, net migration is from the following BBC article

dawndonnaagain · 03/05/2014 14:28

Go find your own figures Claig. I don't really give a shit. I'm all for immigration, does the country good, despite what some think.

thornrose · 03/05/2014 14:34

I just heard that a friend's dd was coming out of college (in Brighton) the other day and she was racially abused by UKIP supporters.

She was told to go back to Africa among other things! She is only 17 and it has really shaken her up.

Anyone who believes that they are not racist is incredibly naïve or delusional.

claig · 03/05/2014 14:38

'I just heard that a friend's dd was coming out of college (in Brighton) the other day and she was racially abused by UKIP supporters.'

How did the person telling you know they were UKIP supporters? Were they wearing UKIP rosettes?

thornrose · 03/05/2014 14:42

They were carrying UKIP placards. Their UKIP credentials were under no doubt.

dawndonnaagain · 03/05/2014 14:44

Out of order, claig
Oh, and the kids at sixth form voting UKIP so that my dd can 'go back to Paki land' aren't wearing rosettes in school, but they make it clear who they are voting for, and why. She was born in Watford. I was born in London. My mother was born in Bournmouth. My Grandmother was born in Gibraltar.

claig · 03/05/2014 14:47

In that case, I think the media will report it. Is it in the Brighton newspapers or national nespapers?

Racial abuse is a crime. Has she reported it?

dawndonnaagain · 03/05/2014 14:48

So, basically claig if it's not in the press, you will not believe it? Is that true?

claig · 03/05/2014 14:51

No. But I do find it unbelievable that UKIP supporters woud do that, and I would expect the press to give it full publicity if they did do that.

thornrose · 03/05/2014 14:56

I don't need anyone else to believe it, it is a FACT.

On this occasion she didn't report it to the police, she was very intimidated and just wanted to get away and home.

dawndonnaagain · 03/05/2014 14:58

But I do find it unbelievable that UKIP supporters woud do that
And yet, nobody else does.

TucsonGirl · 03/05/2014 15:40

I too find that story very dubious. A girl was leaving college and just happened to run into a group of people carrying UKIP placards? And they racially abused her? It sounds very unlikely to me.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 03/05/2014 16:10

I can well believe it. Brighton had a 'March for England' going on last weekend. A lot of racist abuse was flying about

claig · 03/05/2014 16:22

I just googled 'March For England' and of course it has nothing to do with UKIP. It seems to be some kind of EDL thing.

dawndonnaagain · 03/05/2014 16:51

Funny, wasn't in the papers though, was it Claig, so you can believe that because it's convenient. No comment as to my dds experience though? Or am I a liar too?
It is absolutely necessary for you to believe that UKIP would not do this for you to salve your conscience in voting for them, isn't it.

claig · 03/05/2014 17:01

It was in the papers, it was in the Daily Mirror and it said

"However, people against the event say it is linked to the English Defence League."

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/march-england-nationalists-clash-anti-fascists-3466606

I don't know about your DDs' experience. Are the "kids at sixth form voting UKIP" of voting age?

I have no problems with my conscience in voting UKIP because UKIP are not racists whatever the establishment politicians try to say about the 38% of voters who intend to vote UKIP.

dawndonnaagain · 03/05/2014 17:03

Yes, they are of voting age. They are voting UKIP because they are racists. As are many, many UKIP supporters.

claig · 03/05/2014 17:12

'They are voting UKIP because they are racists.'

Then they are racists and not very bright because UKIP is not a racist party.

The father of Conservative Party MP, Priti Patel, is a UKIP candidate

"Priti Patel's Ukip candidate father says: 'They are not a racist party'"

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/ukip/10028858/Priti-Patels-Ukip-candidate-father-says-Ukip-is-not-racist-party.html

TucsonGirl · 03/05/2014 17:13

dawndonna you are making a tit of yourself. Most people voting UKIP are not racist. Wanting out of the EU does not make you racist, nor does wanting an end to mass immigration. And those policies are the reasons why the vast, vast, vast majority of people are voting UKIP. There may be racists voting UKIP, but no more so than there are racists voting Labour. Tory, Libdem, Green etc etc.

claig · 03/05/2014 17:31

I wonder why the establishment media and the establishment politicians never mention that establishment Labour councillors have defected from the establishment Labour Party and joined the people's party, UKIP, as councillors.

Are they afraid that the public might rumble the establishment's smear tactics as it flounders in desperation at the number of councillors and people joining and voting UKIP?

"Nigel Farage’s UK Independence Party has claimed another Labour scalp in Barking and Dagenham.

Cllr Tariq Saeed defected to Ukip on Wednesday after announcing his departure from the Labour party

Barking and Dagenaham Ukip Forum chariman Peter Harris said he was “delighted” the Abbey Ward councillor had made the move.

He said: “We are extremely pleased to have somebody with Tariq’s experience join our party and agree to stand as a Ukip candidate in the election on May 22.”

www.barkinganddagenhampost.co.uk/news/politics/fourth_labour_councillor_defects_to_ukip_in_barking_and_dagenham_1_3434332

turgiday · 03/05/2014 17:33

Of course UKIP is a racist, homophobic and sexist party.

If you want to end gay marriage, vote UKIP
If you want to roll back protection for gay people, vote UKIP
If you think Black and Asian people should "go back to where they came from", vote UKIP
If you think feminism is a dirty word, vote UKIP

They are the "acceptable" face of BNP politics.

dawndonnaagain · 03/05/2014 17:36

dawndonna you are making a tit of yourself.
Bless you, sweetie, it isn't me that's making a tit of myself, though.
