To have smashed an egg on his windscreen

lollipoppi · 11/03/2014 19:48

Ok, so I know IABU and it was a spur of the moment childish thing to do but ........

Upon leaving the supermarket with a 1yo and 3yo in tow, I get to my car to find a man struggling to get out of his van because he has parked so close to my car.

I politely pointed out that if he is struggling then how am I expected to get my 3yo into his car seat when I cannot open my door.
His response was "it's not my problem"
Me : well it's now my problem because your an incompetent arse
Him: fuck off you stuck up btch, and walked off with his mate laughing

Whilst my 3yo was climbing over my 1yo to get to his car seat, I unloaded the shopping and came across the eggs.

I splatted one on his windscreen and bombed it

Very immature of me I know, but I think he deserved it!

Hi everyone,

Many thanks for your reports, we may just have banned someone with form for being inflammatory. As you were Smile

LoonvanBoon · 12/03/2014 11:03

Bye bye, Bartman!

TunipTheUnconquerable · 12/03/2014 11:04

Thanks Kate

ZingSweetMango · 12/03/2014 11:04

Thanks Kate

SooticaTheWitchesCat · 12/03/2014 11:06

Well yes, it was very childish and unreasonable to smash an egg on his windscreen but I think it made me giggle!

Some people are inconsiderate twats and an egg on the windscreen isn't exactly vandalism. Hopefully it was a hot day and it started cooking on there Wink

Cigarettesandsmirnoff · 12/03/2014 11:06

Thank fuck it wasn't me again Grin

Nerfmother · 12/03/2014 11:26

I have a question. Why couldn't you put your dc in through the other door? I know it's a faff but better that than start a ruck in a carpark?

He needed to be punished when she was the one who threw the first insult?

I wonder how this would have gone if the op said he threw an egg at her car...

IamInvisible · 12/03/2014 11:49

I have a question. Why couldn't you put your dc in through the other door? I know it's a faff but better that than start a ruck in a car park?

Because that would have been far too easy, Nerf. And don't you know, if these entitled mummies can't open their car doors as wide as they possibly go to get their precious children in, the whole world stops turning!

I think the attitude of the majority of people on here is absolutely disgusting. If you all saw a 19 yo lad in a hoody smashing an egg on a windscreen, would you shout "bravo" "he deserved it" " well done"? Would you fuck, you'd be taking pictures and on your phones to the police!

SirChenjin · 12/03/2014 12:04

If the van man had just done the same to the 19 year old man with 2 children (which he wouldn't have done...much easier to pick on a woman on her own) then it wouldn't bother me either.

MinesAPintOfTea · 12/03/2014 12:05

To be fair, if you have two DC in car seats and a normal car then you really do need to be able to access both sides to get them strapped in safely. And I wouldn't be leaving my DC with a stranger who has just been inconsiderate whilst I reversed. I'd expect him to walk off and leave them, not dangerous unless there's a reversing vehicle like my own.

Plus I always drive in forwards in the supermarket or if I've gone out with the buggy so I can access the boot properly.

And whilst I wouldn't have done this, I can see why you did OP and I hope it makes him think twice about being rude to women in the future. I'm willing to bet this wouldn't have happened if you had been with a DP/DH.

IamInvisible · 12/03/2014 12:10

He didn't 'pick on her'! She started with the name calling, so he retaliated.

Her behaviour, none of it, imo can be justified. It's a bit of a pain to out your DC into a car seat from the otherside, but he is 3 he climbed over himself and all she had to do was strap him in. She did not need to open the other door.

What would she have done had she have come back 30 seconds or a minute later? Nothing, because there would have been no-one to rant at!

GooseyLoosey · 12/03/2014 12:12

YABU.

Only one of you was potentially guilty of a criminal offence. Guess which?

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 12/03/2014 12:21

She had to strap the 1 year old in, then climb over the child and car seat and get the three year old in as well. That's a pain in the arse. Do-able, but a pain in the arse.

Parking like a decent human being, not a total knob end is also do-able, and not a pain in the arse.

IamInvisible · 12/03/2014 12:32

He might not have parked like an arse on account of the fact that he parked a fucking van! He could have been dead central and still have been near the line!

RedFocus · 12/03/2014 12:40

And this is why I park all the way over the other side of car parks or at the very top to avoid jerks like the op and people who have no spacial awareness like the bloke who's van she vandalised.

MinesAPintOfTea · 12/03/2014 12:44

Iam I drive a van sometimes. I park in the furthest corner of the car park miles from everyone else precisely because its too big for the spaces! If you don't recognise your vehicle is larger than car parks are designed for then you are an arse including people with humongous 4x4/people carriers

FiscalCliffRocksThisTown · 12/03/2014 12:49

Well, you got the kids in, didn't you?

And you were both parker within the line?

You were both badly behaved (tut tut) and the egg thing will be on cctv, you nutter, and might be followed up by van man.

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 12/03/2014 13:06

I agree with the sentiment that putting your child in through the other door (as you ended up doing) is better than getting into a ruck in a car park. It's annoying but not worth causing a fuss over.

As for all the people complaining that someone else has pulled up to their boot why can't you just drop back a bit for loading? Confused

NeedsAsockamnesty · 12/03/2014 13:40

op

You may not have been very restrained but if you come shopping with me and bring your eggs next time I go,I will pay for your shopping.

creakyfloor125 · 12/03/2014 13:43

YABVVU and you know you are.

You should have dealt with it like a rational human being and smashed the whole box on this window, plus some ketchup.

You could always have picked up more eggs and ketchup on your way home.

Cigarettesandsmirnoff · 12/03/2014 13:47

She had to strap the 1 year old in, then climb over the child and car seat and get the three year old in as well.

Why didn't the three year old get in first? Confused

MeepMeepVrooom · 12/03/2014 13:50

Cigareetesandsmirnoff I presume the 3 yr old did go in first but then the OP would still have to strap in the 1 years old and climb over to the 3 years old.
