To have smashed an egg on his windscreen

Ok, so I know IABU and it was a spur of the moment childish thing to do but ........

Upon leaving the supermarket with a 1yo and 3yo in tow, I get to my car to find a man struggling to get out of his van because he has parked so close to my car.

I politely pointed out that if he is struggling then how am I expected to get my 3yo into his car seat when I cannot open my door.
His response was "it's not my problem"
Me : well it's now my problem because your an incompetent arse
Him: fuck off you stuck up btch, and walked off with his mate laughing

Whilst my 3yo was climbing over my 1yo to get to his car seat, I unloaded the shopping and came across the eggs.

I splatted one on his windscreen and bombed it

Very immature of me I know, but I think he deserved it!

Do people seriously behave like this and other adults think it is funny?

Taz1212 · 11/03/2014 20:13

Yes, YABVU but God I wish I'd been there to secretly cheer you on. Grin

NigellasDealer · 11/03/2014 20:13

Grin next time put some prawns in the heater vents.

HadABadDay2014 · 11/03/2014 20:14

I don't find it funny.

You could have said excuse me do you mind pulling your van out so I can get my children into the car seats.

Manors don't cost anything.

You was arsy with him and got arsy back so you vandalised someone van, which he uses for work purposes.

hoobypickypicky · 11/03/2014 20:14

Remind me, did you say you have a three year old or that you are a three year old?

The man says something you don't like. You respond by being abusive to him then appear to be surprised when he's twice as rude back. Then you compound the issue by committing an act of vandalism - criminal damage - in front of your children.

Classy.

Capitola · 11/03/2014 20:15

What awful, thuggish behaviour and in front of your children too. Nice.

unlucky83 · 11/03/2014 20:15

Hadabad Manors do actually cost quite a lot Wink On the other hand manners....

OwlCapone · 11/03/2014 20:16

So, you were the one who started the insults...? Confused

Gosh, yes. Well done. Hmm

TeeManyMartoonis · 11/03/2014 20:16

You started the name calling? People will always react in a defensive way if you call them names. Then you vandalised his car with a substance that is actually quite dangerous.

Hilarious.

Oh, wait....

MadAsFish · 11/03/2014 20:17

Do people seriously behave like this and other adults think it is funny?

Yep, absolutely.

Yes, you were probably unreasonable by some people's perfect, halo-polishing standards. I think you were entirely appropriate. Your children will also learn that you don't just take abuse. Not a bad lesson, that.

HadABadDay2014 · 11/03/2014 20:17

Thanks for pointing out the mistake. I agree manors cost loads.

bringbacksideburns · 11/03/2014 20:17

Well i think it's bloody hilarious!

You bad role model you!!
Bloody hell, we can't all be perfectly composed specimens of womanhood all the time.

formerbabe · 11/03/2014 20:17

Any man who tells a woman alone with two young children to fuck off and calls her a bitch deserves it IMO.

Bet he wouldn't have spoken to the op like that if she was with a man at the time.

Nicknacky · 11/03/2014 20:18

I've been at home with sick kids for last three days and been in forums a lot more than normal.

I'm gobsmacked at how people behave.

CoffeeTea103 · 11/03/2014 20:18

How rude of you to speak to him like that in the first place. And in front of your 3 year old. And then you come on and post as if something to be proud about. Tacky really.

bringbacksideburns · 11/03/2014 20:18

Oh - and would he have spoken to you like that if you were 6ft 3 with a big mate standing next to you? No, he would have been quaking in his boots.

Nicknacky · 11/03/2014 20:19

Hang in if I read it right she called him a name first. Why shouldn't he retaliate? She's not exactly acting like a lady.

MadAsFish · 11/03/2014 20:19

And she hardly started it, she started out politely, then when he said he didn't care ('not my problem') was when he got called an arse, because he was being one.

candycoatedwaterdrops · 11/03/2014 20:19

I think YABU because you started it off with name calling. You catch more flies with honey and all that.....

Cigarettesandsmirnoff · 11/03/2014 20:20

I would get my self in to an argument while I have two children with me. It was foolish and possibly dangerous.

hoobypickypicky · 11/03/2014 20:24

"Any man who tells a woman alone with two young children to fuck off and calls her a bitch deserves it IMO."

Oh please! What's the OP's gender got to do with it? The same OP who started the argument by calling the man an arse, remember.

Let's not go down the poor little woman alone route. I'm sure most people - and quite possibly the OP included - wouldn't want her gender to be made an issue of if we were discussing an equal salary so why should a confrontation which she started be any different?

lollipoppi, I'm curious - did it not occur to you to let your 3 year old climb over to sit in his seat first so he didn't have to clamber over your one year old to reach it? Confused

WorraLiberty · 11/03/2014 20:24

I hear Jeremy Kyle is looking for guests OP

Doctorbrownbear · 11/03/2014 20:26

High five!

Toadinthehole · 11/03/2014 20:27

I would have got him to mind the kids while I reversed my car out. No need for a row, so YABU.

BigRedBall · 11/03/2014 20:27

You started the swearing therefore....
