To let myself into upstairs flat?

I live in a house converted into flats. I don't know the lady upstairs that well but well enough to have conversations with if we bump into eachother.

The door to her flat is right opposite my door. For the last 2 days I haven't heard her come in or go out, and her keys have been in her door. WIBU to go up and check nobody's dead in there?! Or is that overstepping boundaries?

I have gone away for the weekend before and left the front door half open and the TV still on inside. Key in the outside of the door. Putting bags in the car, one person thought the other had locked up, easy done.

I have also left the keys on the outside of the door when going out and locking up, and when going in with shopping. I guess I'm a bit lackadaisical.

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

I don't like it when OP's don't update.

My friend recently went on holiday and left her front door wide open - for a whole week! When she got back she was surprised/disappointed nobody had shut it for her. And very glad she wasn't robbed !

To the people with differing page numbers….you can set how many posts you want to see per page. Depending on what you set it as depends on how many pages you have.

The op went out of her flat to check on the neighbour but left her own key in her flat and shut the door. She is now having to live in the neighbours flat and is trying to think of a good excuse for why she is there upon the neighbours return from 2 weeks in Ibiza. She also left her mobile on the kitchen worktop and cant figure out the password to the neighbours laptop so she can update us all.

Maybe OP went into the flat, and was then arrested as a burglar when the resident or their relative came back suddenly!

seriously, people should be more concerned and caring for neighbours, especially the elderly or otherwise vulnerable. My nan lay on her own for 3 days with a broken hip over a bank holiday weekend before she was found Sad .This was in warden controlled flats and they had falsified their records saying they had checked on everyone! Angry

Maybe she went in and got side-tracked by the residents collection of Dolly Parton memorabilia and is still there now going through it all and teaching herself how to line dance.
