To let myself into upstairs flat?

MrsDrRanj · 20/02/2014 12:26

I live in a house converted into flats. I don't know the lady upstairs that well but well enough to have conversations with if we bump into eachother.

The door to her flat is right opposite my door. For the last 2 days I haven't heard her come in or go out, and her keys have been in her door. WIBU to go up and check nobody's dead in there?! Or is that overstepping boundaries?

I'm glad that you and your neighbour are both fine.

PavlovtheCat · 22/02/2014 12:13

phantom oh rubbish, I bet at least half those lurking on this thread were hoping for a little bit of drama.

Fairenuff · 22/02/2014 12:24

Yeah, bit of an anti climax now Grin

MrsDrRanj · 22/02/2014 12:51

Sorry to disappoint! And she's not elderly btw, and her door opens directly to stairs that's how she's upstairs :)

She left her keys in the door for 2 days because her boyfriend was coming over?

Wouldn't it have made more sense to have a) left the door unlocked but NOT with the keys in as that would draw attention and b) done it on the day the boyfriend was due not 2 days before?

AlpacaLypse · 22/02/2014 13:01

Crohnically this all happened on Thursday. MrsD epically failed to update us on the night, bless her!

CrohnicallyFarting · 22/02/2014 13:16

I know. But her OP on Thurs says the keys had been there 2 days.

You weren't in Narnia? Sort of disappointed...

RightHereNow · 22/02/2014 13:50

But the OP said the keys had been in the lock for 2 days - what the neighbour says doesn't make sense!

WitchWay · 22/02/2014 15:23

Well I was hoping for a little more drama. just a tiny bit of Narnia.

Glad everyone is OK. I have no idea where I got the idea that she was elderly came from.

Pipbin · 22/02/2014 15:50

That doesn't make sense. Try again.

I have no idea where her being elderly came from. My mistake.

RussianBlu · 22/02/2014 17:21

How odd that you would leave keys in a door for someone because they would be home before you. Maybe risk sticking them under a mat or in an inconspicuous place, but actually in the keyhole???

Can you go back up and ask her why she would think that would be a good idea please?

MrsDrRanj · 22/02/2014 18:15

I think her door is quite strange in that it has to be locked for it to close at all. But yeah, dunno why she left it there for so long sorry I didn't interview her too much lol
