To let myself into upstairs flat?

I live in a house converted into flats. I don't know the lady upstairs that well but well enough to have conversations with if we bump into eachother.

The door to her flat is right opposite my door. For the last 2 days I haven't heard her come in or go out, and her keys have been in her door. WIBU to go up and check nobody's dead in there?! Or is that overstepping boundaries?

If we tie ropes round our waists so we're all attached in a long safety chain, do you think we're safe to follow them in? If we get sucked into the vortex the front runners may still be able to shout back to the end people who can update on what we can see...?

I've left the keys in my frontdoor before. Once when we went away for the weekend. I was busy checking we had the passports.
I once heard of someone who left their front door open when they went away on holiday for a week. Noone burgled them- probably because they presumed someone was on their way in or way out.

I bet the neighbour has gone off for the weekend.

I left my keys on the boot of the car. The car behind on the motorway kept flashing me and then over took and mimed keys at me.
We pulled over and found the keys
(dh was driving with his keys)

there are a lot of threads at the moment started by people who don't come back. It is really annoying. Especially on the ones where you have taken time to write a long reply.
