to lose it at this angry woman who criticised my parking.

So i was in town this morning with the Q7 (or the panzer tank as I call it) and i pulled up to a space. I reversed in a few times but i was always a bit squint. Eventually i left the car squint but still in the bay. I let out my kids and just while i locked the car this woman came over.

she said i should go back and straighten the car out because it was squint. I told her that if she had a q7 i would like to see her park it in such a tight space. She thought i was suggesting that she didn't have a big car because she was poor. i wasn't suggesting that at all. so she went into a long rant about me being disrespectful. i was shocked .

but i didn't shout too much cause i had two kids with me.

aibu to be annoyed at her.

I do too chip but love parking sensors on my car, also improved my driving when I test drove auris as it was bigger and I became more confident

SirChenjin · 26/07/2013 17:48

Parking sensors and a couple more lessons from a driving instructor are what you need Chip - there's no need to panic when it comes to parking.

scarlettsmummy2 · 26/07/2013 18:01

I am not sure why you feel the need to say it is a Q7, rather than just very large car/ 4 x 4. It makes you sound like a knob.

I don't feel remotely insecure- I think it is quite the opposite actually, the OP obviously feels SHE has something to prove, hence referencing the fact she has a luxury car.

SirChenjin · 26/07/2013 18:11

If she talked about her ST-1 or her Titanium-X I would be Hmm

Audi drivers are in a league of their own though, everyone knows that Grin Daily Mail alert

Is that because you are also so super rich that only Aston Martins and Bentleys are properly luxurious? Don't be so ridiculous.

If you can't park a car properly, you are a dangerous driver.

I wish they tested people's parking in various sizes of car, and if you couldn't park it you didn't get a license for that size of car.

SirChenjin · 26/07/2013 18:21

What - a car worth £50K isn't a luxury car?? Get real. It's about 2 years salary for the average person in the UK.

Madamecastafiore · 26/07/2013 18:22

Stupid fucking big cars (DH has one which I refuse to drive) but am sure he would never refer to it by model as that would make him sound like a complete twat.

Do you not see that most parking spaces are not designed for such stupidly big cars and it makes it extremely hard for people to get in and out of the cars you park next to when you park straight let alone when you park at an angle.

Buy yourself a smaller car if you cannot manage to park it or park it far away where there are enough spaces so your terribly inconsiderate parking does not have an impact on others.

I don't have hang ups about other peoples cars either. I do have hang ups about stupid prats who make idiotic comments about 50k cars not being a luxury, when I have spent the week directing mothers to food banks to feed their children.

scarlettsmummy2 · 26/07/2013 18:30

We have moved on from that to your idiotic comment.....

chipmonkey · 26/07/2013 18:57

Idiotic? I would class it as a luxury car but that's because I personally don't drive that good a car and probably won't either because I wouldn't spend money on a car if I could have a good holiday instead! However, if everlong thinks it isn't, she's entitled to her opinions without being called idiotic.

scarlettsmummy2 · 26/07/2013 18:59

No, well clearly she lives in a parallel universe where everyone spends 50k on their run of the mill car!

GoodTouchBadTouch · 26/07/2013 19:03

Jesus scarlettsmummy calm down!

Cars can cost 5X that. Everlong never said it was run of the mill, just not what she would call luxury.

What on earth that has to do with your job I don't know..

chipmonkey · 26/07/2013 19:05

Hardly a parallel universe. There is really no need to be rude.

scarlettsmummy2 · 26/07/2013 19:09

My point was that 50k is not what the average person spends on a car, and having spent the week doing work on the welfare reform measures, I really am quite offended by that level of ignorance.
