I've absolutely loved the thread on crap stuff people have bought (and now know which washing machines/hoovers/deodorants to avoid).

Thought it might be interesting to see which products/appliances you love, be they beauty, household stuff, pet products, etc. Always useful to get 'thumbs-ups' from people. And as someone who rarely wears make-up (because I don't know what I'm buying/how to apply the damn stuff) it would be great to hear about essential beauty buys, rather than what the magazines tell us to buy. Beauty Editors seem to make a lot more money than most women.

For me it's my gadgets - iPod, Beats headphones (amazing sound quality on them) and my Kindle (even though I'm still buying stupid amounts of 'real' books too - they're so cheap in charity shops and supermarkets!).

So, what would/could you not be without?

In the kitchen : Kitchenaid - can't believe how much I use it, it was eyewateringly expensive but has been value for money for how much I use it.

Pampered chef stoneware - this is frequently slated as being overpriced and useless, but I really love mine, just for how easy it is to clean.

Beauty etc : Pitrok roll on deodorant - doesn't stop me sweating, but stops any odour far far better than Sure etc
Max Factor mascara - all the ones I have tried have been excellent, but I particularly like Masterpiece.

And at the opposite end of the price scale, Supersoft Silicon free conditioner £1 in Poundland (naturally!) and leaves my hair all soft and lovely without getting greasy.

The more I think about this question, the more I realise what a fickle consumer I am. I hardly ever buy the same thing twice Blush. Except food, but then again, its not really much of a recommendation if I were to say 'you know what I buy time after time? Bananas!' Grin

Deodorant it has to be the not so well advertised Mitchum spray on!! It stops me sweating no matter what the weather /activity, dosent leave any marks & actually smells lovely :)) best I have ever used. I never even noticed it until I met DH who has been an avid user for years!!

Nivea cream- I use about a pot a month Blush don't think it's going to magically rejuvenate my skin or anything but it smells nice, and it's very soft and makes my skin feel less dry. And it was the only thing that stopped the irritation from my tattoo a while ago....all the perfume-free, approved/advised stuff did nothing.

My beluv'd mooncup!

stepawayfromthescreen · 29/05/2013 16:48

Nespresso coffee maker
Celtic sheepskin boots
Bourbon biscuits (you can keep all your fancy biscuits, a bourbon is the bees knees as far as I'm concerned)

YouStayClassySanDiego · 29/05/2013 17:01

Hair straighteners [ghd]
Hydralauron - serum for face, like a prune otherwise.
Cistaplast [sp?] skin cream; it's brilliant.
Fish oils; they give me zip and I can tell when I run out and forget to buy them.
Millicano coffee, best tasting one for me.
St Tropez face tan mousse.
Sparkling water- don't mind which brand as long as it fizzes.

MinesaBottle · 29/05/2013 17:02

Nivea lip balm - the soothe & protect one in the mint green tube. I get cracked lips a lot in the winter and this heals them within a couple of days!

I second the person who said Pitrok (lasts for ages too) and the one who said Sudocrem - the latter is a miracle!!!

Also:
iPad mini
Mane & Tail shampoo and conditioner (discovered it in the US, now Liberty does it - it's fantastic and yes it was originally developed for horses Grin)
Oral B Pro Expert toothpaste
Yorkshire Tea for hard water
Waitrose own brand salt n'vinegar crisps
Marmite
Cire Trudon candles (we are allowed to have one posh thing right? I loves them)
Good old eau de Cologne (4711, available at Boots)
