I've absolutely loved the thread on crap stuff people have bought (and now know which washing machines/hoovers/deodorants to avoid).

Thought it might be interesting to see which products/appliances you love, be they beauty, household stuff, pet products, etc. Always useful to get 'thumbs-ups' from people. And as someone who rarely wears make-up (because I don't know what I'm buying/how to apply the damn stuff) it would be great to hear about essential beauty buys, rather than what the magazines tell us to buy. Beauty Editors seem to make a lot more money than most women.

For me it's my gadgets - iPod, Beats headphones (amazing sound quality on them) and my Kindle (even though I'm still buying stupid amounts of 'real' books too - they're so cheap in charity shops and supermarkets!).

So, what would/could you not be without?

Karcher window dryer/squidgee gadget.
M&S Gold teabags.

My slow cooker, does the best tender curries from cheaper cuts of meat.

Asda Coco creams - oh my goodness 2 plains biscuits sandwiched togther by a v rich cocoa cream. Beats posh biscuits anyday.

Waitrose own brand ratatouille - chuck a can in the slow cooker with meat, 1 small tbsp each of chilli, coriander, cumin, curry powder & turmeric & onions with enough water to cover meat. Bingo 8 hrs later a nice curry

Fairy washing powder & conditioner

My picnic blanket I got from £shop 10 yrs ago, its still going strong.

MabliD · 29/05/2013 21:53

Slow cooker (actually could not cope without it, we would starve or live on beans. I am no chef!)

Samsung tablet

Boots Time Delay serum (half the price of No7 and makes my skin feel super soft)

Huggies Wipes (the green aloe vera ones preferably)

Freya/Fantasie bras

Colgate advanced white toothpaste. This is my miracle product, I cannot believe how much whiter my teeth look since I discovered it. I smile in photos now!

To those who have an iPad and a kindle, why both? Because iPads not easy to see in the sun? Wondering if I should get a kindle.

Liz Earle C&P and Superskin serum.
My AEG washer dryer, which is the only combi I've found that is actually brilliant at both things!
Mitchum deo. (Was surprised this got bad press on the other thread, I find the stick and roll on as good as each other.)
Bobbi Brown corrector and concealer.
YSL Faux Cils and Dior mascaras.
Fantasie and Freya bras.
iPhone and iPad.
Aldi nappies and baby wipes. Miles cheaper than anywhere else and much gentler and more effective too.
Aldi chocolate chip cookies. Though they're a false economy as they're diet cheap but so delicious I have to be careful not to eat 3 whole packs in one sitting.
Hydraluron serum.
Real Techniques make up brushes.
Dyson hand held vacuum-again was surprised Dyson got such a kicking on the other thread-this is the best dust buster I've had and I love it.
Kindle.

AntoinetteCosway · 29/05/2013 23:11

Ooh, forgot Wolford and Falke tights. They can last a year if you wash them carefully, unlike the cheapies that seem to ladder after one wear!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 29/05/2013 23:20

Some more:

Orthaheel orthotics from Boots, have made a huge difference to the chronic back pain I suffered with for years.

I think Rapidbrow eyebrow serum might be working its way onto my list too, been using it about 6 weeks and they are definitely looking fuller.

Lush skincare - the only range the sensitive skin round my eyes seems to cope with.

Daz citrus splash - gets the clothes so much cleaner than bold and is cheaper.
Dove deodorant - noticeably makes my underarms look nicer and smells gorgeous.
Microfiber cloths - just fantastic for everything, especially dusting.
Avon super shock mascara - great brush, lots of volume.
VO5 volume shampoo & conditioner - fantastic, hair smells amazing for days, doesn't weigh it down.
Flora buttery - tastes nearly as good as butter but is marginally better for you!
