I've absolutely loved the thread on crap stuff people have bought (and now know which washing machines/hoovers/deodorants to avoid).

Thought it might be interesting to see which products/appliances you love, be they beauty, household stuff, pet products, etc. Always useful to get 'thumbs-ups' from people. And as someone who rarely wears make-up (because I don't know what I'm buying/how to apply the damn stuff) it would be great to hear about essential beauty buys, rather than what the magazines tell us to buy. Beauty Editors seem to make a lot more money than most women.

For me it's my gadgets - iPod, Beats headphones (amazing sound quality on them) and my Kindle (even though I'm still buying stupid amounts of 'real' books too - they're so cheap in charity shops and supermarkets!).

So, what would/could you not be without?

ToysRLuv · 29/05/2013 18:05

Startail · 29/05/2013 18:06

TV disc recorders, the DDs do not remember the hell that was finding Angel Mouse or Bob the Builder on 100 unlabelled VCRs

silverten · 29/05/2013 18:10

Rohan clothing.

Quality, well made, nice plain 'quiet' clothing that is hardwearing, practical and comfortable to wear outdoors - so ideal for grubbing about with toddlers and commuting. I stay warm and dry and it doesn't look too obviously 'outdoorsy'. The jeans look quite smart and they dry overnight, too.

I love it and am never shopping anywhere else if I can help it. It even has a lifetime guarantee.

My DH tried Mitchum once and it gave him a sort of itchy eczema. It's the 48 hour thing - it's too strong I think. Dove stick deodorant is great.

Tampax Pearl
Boots curl creme

TheRealFellatio · 29/05/2013 18:31

SoleSource · 29/05/2013 18:34

True Fellatio. I buy the premium

Huggies wipes - only ones that are damp enough and strong enough IMO
ADSA nappies - fab and half price of Pampers

Golden granulated sugar - white seems too sweet now and I think I get better results with baking
ASDA own museli (red box)
L'occitaine shower oil (Almond) - this is my expensive treat and I can keep the bottle going all year if I use it just once a week :) Had comments on how soft my skin is after using it with exfoliating gloves
