To only wash my bedding ...

Every 2 weeks?

King size and junior double sheets, duvet cover etc., which I iron. Plus spare bed maybe every 4 weeks (me/DH spend the odd night when we are having problems sleeping/have visitors staying over). Can't understand how other mums manage to get everything washed, dried and ironed in a week?!

Am I manky?

I can wash mine up to 4 times a week (I have a health condition that causes me to sweat like a Grand National runner). I used to love my expensive cotton bedding, but it would bunch up during my tossing/turning/sweating and hurt me (yep, pain condition, too).

I read somewhere about microfleece bedding so ordered a set. OMG! THE best thing I've ever bought! NO ironing, sweat just "flicks" off (yes, I know!), doesn't feel cold and wet when I get back in after a trip to the loo, dries in an hour on the line (if it needs that). Amazing stuff!

Oh yes, doesn't give sheet shock on cold nights, is warm and cozy and strangely enough, doesn't overheat me in the summer either.

I want my coffin lined with this stuff! It makes life much easier, so death will be a doddle!

Anywhere between fortnightly and double that eeeeek....

FatherSpodoKomodo · 21/04/2013 21:47

Every few months. Sometimes more though. DS5 sometimes wets so his get washed more often.

They are due a wash now, I think that's next weekends job. I hate wrestling with duvets though, which is why I leave it.

Armi · 21/04/2013 21:50

Fortnightly. It used to be once a week, pre-DD, but we're regularly up for hours at night with her so I reason the sheets will stay clean for longer.

Undertone · 21/04/2013 21:52

Sleep on my own in long jammies and i air the bed thoroughly every day. Tbh the only time i would consider changing sheets more frequently than once a month is when i want to give myself a "lovely fresh bed" treat. On which occasions i also iron everything. The steam and heat makes the fabric feel and smell lovely.

Dreading summer. My flat is quite hot and it means i can't sleep under a duvet. Sad

ivanapoo · 21/04/2013 21:52

If I had a tumble drier I would do it a lot more often. That's all I'm saying...

MooncupGoddess · 21/04/2013 21:56

I'm glad I found this thread, it's reminded me that I haven't changed my sheets since Easter. My goal is fortnightly for sheets and monthly for the duvet, but in practice it's a bit less than that. In my defence I am single (so no sweaty men or rampant shagging) and wear pyjamas.

SirBoobAlot · 21/04/2013 21:57

Whenever I have to...

Every couple of weeks, though tend to change them more in the summer / if I'm having wonderful sex. Grin

VerySmallSqueak · 21/04/2013 21:58

Barbara I have read the description on that.

I am so very Confused.
I would be Shock possibly,or even Blush if I could only work it out.
All I can say is that it certainly must get a bit sweaty and whiffy under all that nasty latex.

Doubtfuldaphne · 21/04/2013 22:10

Every week for me
And my mum irons my sheets Blush
I'm 33 Blush

Gerrof · 22/04/2013 12:28

I don't iron my sheets. I am not mad.

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 22/04/2013 12:51

Thinking that those who like a new towel daily (really don't understand that) and wash bedding more than once a week, must be doing washing constantly?

With the amount of washing my 14 month old produces, work uniforms and general washing I would be doing washing all the time.

I just can't be bothered. Don't even start me on ironing. Nothing gets ironed in our house.

nellyjelly · 22/04/2013 18:20

Towels don't need to be washed every day. Think of the world's resources!

RustyBear · 23/04/2013 07:23

I have an an infallible rule.

I change my bed linen the day before I spill my morning coffee.

Every time.

cleangreens · 23/04/2013 22:41

Ugh vile bodies in beds and leaving the sheets for weeks/months eurgh cannot imagine anything more yukky. I change mine every week without fail.

Oh and air the bed every day- amen.

raisah · 24/04/2013 02:25

weekly but i dont iron as I dry them off the upstairs bannisters or outside so all the creases fall out. I dont let dh touch them Otherwise they will need ironing! Keep a few spare sets of linen so you can change your bed weekly but you dont need to wash weekly.

MidniteScribbler · 24/04/2013 02:56

I try for weekly, but more often it's fortnightly depending on how busy things are (and whether or not I'm in the mood to have an argument with the old dog about her preferred sleeping spot). I have a few sets for each bed, so I rotate them around.

MissFredi · 24/04/2013 03:08

I am also manky. But as has been said before, it's my mank. On my side anyway. It's his mank on his side and he is also manky.
