AIBU?

To only wash my bedding ...

Every 2 weeks?

King size and junior double sheets, duvet cover etc., which I iron. Plus spare bed maybe every 4 weeks (me/DH spend the odd night when we are having problems sleeping/have visitors staying over). Can't understand how other mums manage to get everything washed, dried and ironed in a week?!

Am I manky?

fluffyraggies- mental! That's a hell of a lot of washing. I can't manage our clothes for the week, let alone all that palaver.

Oh here she is.

It doesn't take just as long to make a bed as it does to change it you loon!

And put some pants on, you'll get worms Wink

Plus I have black cats.

I don't think what I do is normal by the way, and I don't judge others for changing sheets every week or whatever. I just really like the feeling of clean sheets and think it is worth spending the 5 or 10 mins a day changing them. I can put a duvet on freakishly quickly though, great big long orange tan arms.

Orange tan?

Am I imagining it or did someone on here post once that they replace their bedding every 3 months (or something). I mean REPLACE as in, throw the old out and buy new. I think MrsDeVere would need to come up with a new category for that level of commitment to clean.

Are you the family skivvy? Why are you doing all this on your own?

Don't iron them, either.

Once a week, and like Kitchen I do it on Sundays instead of church. Clean sheets are my religion.

Once every 2 weeks, ours and dc3 one week dc1+2 the next, unless obviously dirty.

It used to be less but I have changed my slovenly ways!

Our bed, weekly on a Sunday morning. All of it, sheet, mattress protector, duvet cover and 6 pillowcases. We both sleep with no clothes on. We have white bedding. Doesn't show sex stains, can wash really hot without running/fading. Have about 3-4 sets so not an issue if it doesn't all dry.
DDs beds, fortnightly.
DS cot sheet often gets changed twice or three times a week. He gets it all snotty (how?), and sometimes has a nappy leak through his pjs so his gets washed most often.

Weekly, ironed. And I have to slip into bed after a nice bath, in clean pyjamas with lovely clean toes. Ahhhh, nothing like it!

I do mine religiously every Friday so it's all fresh for a Saturday morning lie-in. I leave the duvet hanging over the banister to air in front of an open window for a couple of hours before remaking it.

The DCs get done about every 2 weeks ish, never on a Friday as I don't think they'd appreciate it in the morning like I do!

Never iron though.

All beds get washed and fully ironed weekly here. Two king beds, 2 singles so I do one a day mon- thurs. Then have wend off!

White bedding only in my household. Changed between 1-2 times a week, depending on weather and illnesses. Everything changed (top sheet, bottom sheets, duvet covers) and washed at 90 (which is why I only buy white), and everything ironed. Thank goodness for the tumble dryer and my cleaner!

Several people in the family have dust mite allergies, and Ds1 seems to turn into a furnace when he sleeps.

About once a month. I know it should be more but it's just such an arse to do it.

Whenever I see posts like 'AIBU to wash my bedding every two weeks?' my first thought is always that someone's stressing about being OCD. Then when I see all the 'Urghh yes YABU you skanster' responses I realise my mistake.

So between me and them, I'd suggest you were average and therefore NBU.

Really though, who gives a toss? If you get bedbugs or something then you'll change, but until then do what works for you. It's your little nest after all.

Variable here. If we (us two or 15yo son) have been sweaty or someone notices the bit of duvet cover nearest their nose smells a bit yucky or if there are, ahem, stains, then the linen gets done. If no particular reason to do it then roughly every 3 weeks.

Oh jesus I haven't read this but I think I'm doing well if I wash them after my period. But the kids don't have periods so.....
