AIBU?

To only wash my bedding ...

Every 2 weeks?

King size and junior double sheets, duvet cover etc., which I iron. Plus spare bed maybe every 4 weeks (me/DH spend the odd night when we are having problems sleeping/have visitors staying over). Can't understand how other mums manage to get everything washed, dried and ironed in a week?!

Am I manky?

Towels used once as well. As soon as the towels get wet, bacteria starts to grow.
We also have our own towels as well. Have done this for years, when one of the dd's got a highly contagious skin infection. Because I am anal about towels, she quickly got rid of the infection and no-one else got it.

I change mine every time a laundry thread is started on here and I realise its been rather a whole since the last time.

Same as how often I do my washing machine maintenance wash.

Ours probably borders on monthly
But I have four children, two who have nocturnal enuresis and one who is training. Means that a lot of days I have three beds to change and wash including duvets and pillows. I couldn't cope with more, I do about three loads a day as it is.

Once a week here but I swivel it round half way through the week ( buttons at top end) it's a good tip folks feels surprisingly fresh!

I have an ironer who irons it

It's white like all my bedding and I have 10 beds in my house four of which are doubles or bigger. Who has the beef with white bedding and why??

I love laundry threads. Such a saddo!

I have pure white bedding because I was never ever allowed as a child. We don't really eat in bed so stays very clean.

The putting all bedding in a pillowcase doesn't work for me. Creases all my lovely ironed bedding.

(Yes I know there will be people shaking their heads at me).

The guest linen thing makes me rage, my Mum does this sometimes .... " Oh it was only Granny... She's very clean".ShockShock

Oh my God StanGirl... why oh why? My brain cannot compute this Grin

I change my bed twice a week and the kids once a week. Religiously. I shower every morning and bath every night but don't have OCD. I do, however, love being clean and fresh and the thought of months old bed sheets is just blee to me

Dark sheets show up, erm, marks though, don't they?! Blush

We have a couple of sets of sheets each and j change them about every two weeks. Baby's cot bottom sheet much more frequently of course as it's covered in crusty snot quite often. if anyone cares! Grin

Every 2 weeks, towels the same. Although agree that each person in household needs their own towel. Find the idea of sharing slightly gross apart from with DP.

How often do people wash their pyjamas? That surely is the more important thing.

Most people sweat a litre of fluid at night

Fortunately this is an urban myth, made up by mattress salesman.

All we have is white/very light coloured bedding because then you can wash it at 90 degrees and it won't run or whatever.

It irons beautifully, too Grin

Love clean, crisp ironed bedding. I always put a razor sharp crease down the bottom sheet, then the duvet as well so that when you turn down in the morning, you've got one single line still running down the bed. Pillowcases also get done.

Oh sorry Blush

It looks like this but with a crease ironed on the duvet cover (lengthways) and a matching crease on the bottom sheet. When you turn the bed down, like in the link, the creases line up.

I think I win Grin

Haha you twats.

Yes I do change it every day in summer, every other day in winter.

I really believe you do sweat a lot at night, think that's why you weigh less in the morning. Plus I sleep with most on so it wold be a bit grim to keep sheets on for a week in that case if think.

Anyway I like clean sheets and it is nearly as quick to change the sheets as it is to make the bed anyway.

I only do my own bed, dd does her own once a week or so.

I've just started washing the top and bottom sheet once a week but leaving the duvet cover and protectors fortnightly

That's what I do. I love getting into a fresh, crisp bed but hate pissing about with the ginormous duvet cover.

Every week/ten days for ours, sometimes two weeks, never more. Kids every week (unless they've spent night(s) at GPs, in which case I add those days on!)
Spare bed when someone uses it

I wash our bedding once a fortnight-3 weeks, youngest DD's every couple of days as she likes stripping her nappy off and peeing. and eldest dd's once a week.

Once a weekish but we have 5 cats. If I could be arsed, I would do every couple of days tbh.

When DS2 was born we had to move into a temporary holiday let for 10 weeks (building works) and had no cats. I was AMAZED how bed linen (in fact the whole house) was so much cleaner and less manky for SOOOOO much longer. I mean I love them and everything but they're a feckin pain. Grin

Just spoke to my mother and mentioned this thread to her - asked if there was anything at all she doesn't iron, and she though for a moment and then said, "dust sheets".

Even I, a lunatic who irons teatowels, would have thought it went without saying that no-one in the whole wide world irons dust sheets...

Once a week. More often if someone's been ill and feverish.

1 King, 3 singles.

DH and i sleep naked - and get up to a fair bit of shagging Grin

The bed feels like it's in need of a change by day 4/5 IMO.

We lay on 4 layers of linen, mattress protector, 2 cotton flat sheets and then a fitted sheet to match the duvet cover. ( i hate the idea of a dirty sweat stained mattress - mine looks as fresh as new )

The whole lot all gets washed every week. Plus the 2 cases on each pillow (i hate a sweat stained pillow too) Plus the duvet cover of course.

I don't have a tumble dryer. I make allot of use of doors, airers and out door lines when it's fine.

Bottom sheet and pillow cases once a week. Duvet gets flipped over at that time then changed every other week (all reversible covers)
