To think i must be a miserable old cow with regards to all the hilarity on the recent threads

I mean, people are ROARing with laughter - literally wetting themselves, crying with the hilarity of it all. Hmm

There must be something wrong with me because, yes, i think its funny mildly amusing and i enjoy reading the threads but can't be arsed to wade through the yoni stuff and will post that i think its funny or try and contribute but im a miserable cow so never find anything funny to say

Also the threads would be much shorter an easier to read if folk were to refrain from posting their reaction "oh i have just wet myself" type posts. Then everyone else thinks that they hve to keep up "oh, ive just popped a hernia i've laughed so much"

I love the funny threads, really i do, but i can't seem to muster more than a wry smile. Is it just me???

I like funny threads. Yoni stuff was funny at first, not so much now.

My hate hate hate is "so and so, what a good thread". Seriously, cringeworthy. Nearly as bad as 'so and so's list/thread about....' because no one actually cares!

I don't think so! I rarely laugh out loud at stuff I'm reading, but I really chortled at the post on yonis. I was watching it unfold though, so there was a sense of 'what the fuck is gonna happen next' plus I'm off work for the hols and life has taken on rather a relaxed pace at the mo'. A little bit of excitement and I'm like a preteen at the school disco!

There's no joke on earth that makes it worth wading through 900 posts. I think the yoni stuff is pretty funny, mostly because it involves Hull as a temple of sexual mysticism and pleasure. However nothing KEEPS being funny. The thread that made me cry laughing yesterday was the Ikea carpark one.

I love watching mumsnet humour unfold as a thread captures their imagination... Yeah it's gone on too long now, but generally I like to watch and giggle from the sidelines

I think some people are genuinely laughing themselves silly cos it has hit their funnybone right, but some others give off a vibe of desperatly doing their best imitation of splitting their sides for fear of being left out...or something.

It's ok not to get hysterically giggly over stuff that makes other people shake with laughter. We are normal. So are they. Well, most of them.

People like differenet stuff. And that's fine.

I just wish these things would limit themselves to just one or two threads cos when you have a couple of "crazes" going on at the same time lively, interesting threads that avoid the crazes (and constant references to the crazes) are a bit thin on the ground. So I'm a bit board at the minute and may even run out of mumsnet fueled procrastination juice long enough to actuallly clean the kitchen.

schobe - i am not spoiling for a fight, honest, i genuinely feel a bit like i am missing something. Its not just here, its even watching comedy on TV - DP will be mildly chortling but i'll be Hmm I really wish i COULD become hysterical over threads i really do

You are grumpy to have started a thread about it, but I do have to agree I have had it up to here ::holds hand way above head:: with all the Yoni stuff, - the image of Brian and his 'offer' makes me want to vomit.

And moonabove it's a bit 'off' to link a thread and deride it.

The Ikea thread is funny if you've ever been to Ikea and thought 'what have I done' - or seen people doing that.

Cleethorpes, well the first rule of yoni club is we don't speak about Cleethorpes........

See - fenton, i found the Brian stuff mildly amusing but its when everyone starts with the puns and the bottom of the barrel is scraped i have no tendancy to ROAR!

All humour is subjective though isn't it? I think though on mumsnet threads a lot of them are only really funny if you are on them live, so to speak. They sometimes lose something when read later.

I haven't read the yoni one as it is too huge, but I did roar a few weeks ago about a cake punching thread. Same as Pom bears I thought was not funny at all, but still remember a stupid thread where we spoke about a bag of mashed potato with find affection!

I genuinely do laugh at loads of threads on here, I usually put a Grin or something if I don't contribute, as some MNetters are really funny and witty and I want them to know they're appreciated.
Some of the ones on classics leave me cold, I agree that sometime you have to be there at the time.

Why does iPad autocorrect accept yoni when it refuses all sorts of everyday stuff??
