AIBU?

To think i must be a miserable old cow with regards to all the hilarity on the recent threads

I mean, people are ROARing with laughter - literally wetting themselves, crying with the hilarity of it all. Hmm

There must be something wrong with me because, yes, i think its funny mildly amusing and i enjoy reading the threads but can't be arsed to wade through the yoni stuff and will post that i think its funny or try and contribute but im a miserable cow so never find anything funny to say

Also the threads would be much shorter an easier to read if folk were to refrain from posting their reaction "oh i have just wet myself" type posts. Then everyone else thinks that they hve to keep up "oh, ive just popped a hernia i've laughed so much"

I love the funny threads, really i do, but i can't seem to muster more than a wry smile. Is it just me???

I think it's nice to mention something you found particularly funny, whether by roaring, lol'ing, arf'ing or even lmao'ing... has just done this in fact on the Masterchef thread

My Brian's skills can help to restore lost senses of humour.

carriedaway I'm not v good at linking but I think it's now in Classics...

I read the first 8 pages and thought it was funny but quickly got bored as I have the thread attention span of a gnat!

Sense of humour isn't 'lost', BriansWife but some things are just not funny to some people. Just how it is. I don't find Morecame and Wise funny either, can't crack a smile but my husband is keeled over laughing at them.

BriansWife... I don't think I've ever come across anybody else who didn't find M&W funny... ShockGrin

The last thing I laughed out lout at, apart from nenmo's post above, was "Stella". I looked like Alice Cooper, my mascara was everywhere.

I do have a sense of humour, it's just not a very obvious - or exercised - one. Blush

I agree, i'm a miserable cow and find most of the hilarity on MN not to my taste at all. All the classics leave me cold. However, i also rarely laugh out loud at anything. I tend to find things funny which are what i consider clever or absurd and even then i only wryly smile. As a generalisation i don't tend to find women very funny either, which is probably why i don't laugh at MN.

There was a thread recently which tickled me. In aibu about someone in a cafe and a woman with a baby almost sitting at her table. It was so absurd to me as it was a hypothetical reason to get offended - it made me and a lot of other posters laugh.

Confused

How can you not find an entire sex not funny ?

The range goes from Victoria Wood to Wotsherface Silverman and every flavour in between.

I suppose if Jim Rose willy folding humour is the ony thing that floats your boat I get it, women not having the required appendages for that style of visual chuckle aids, but otherwise....

i did say 'as a generalisation' and i meant out of friends and rl people i know. not professional comedians.

Did you watch The IT crowd Lucyellensmum95? That was funny.

Morecambe and Wise - not funny any more. Sort of gone past their funny date like a lot of older stuff that people used to kill themselves laffing at.

no, moonabove that totally left me cold - i quite liked Big bang theory but only because it used to remind me of when i was a phd student. We used to laugh a lot and do stupid stuff then but BBT never really made me LOL either.

I wonder if you can get SOH transplants on the NHS?

I do find watching telly I very rarely belly laugh. I like comedy which makes me cringe to death on behalf of the participants, like Curb your Enthusiasm or Alan partridge.

That said, I can never see a red button without thinking of Father Dougall's face. Grin

I really don't rate Big Bang Theory. The bloke who acts Sheldon Cooper is brilliant though, he is a great actor.

The Yoni thread was funny at the time in a 'you had to be there sort of way'. Some very funny posters on it.

I'm bored with it now though.

The funniest threads on here are where something goes off on a tangent and it turns into something odd.

Like a thread where someone called the whole of mumsnet a sad, fat lot, and we all pissed ourselves.

Or a beesimo thread where she talked about horse brasses loads of people quoted song lyrics from the 90s.

Makes no sense out of context but very funny, but only as it is happening.

I have been pretty fed up lately, and the Masterchef thread gave me a good belly laugh.

Not that my head fell off or anything, but still.

If you find something funny, you find it funny.

I like the masterchef thread because it reminded me of the buttery biscuit base video. Grin

Mrs Brown's Boys should be banned, total crap!

I rarely laugh out loud, and if I ever do it's usually over something no one else finds funny Blush

Transplant could be dangerous - you might get the SOH of a Frankie Boyle fan or someone who thinks farting is hilarious.

I will acknowledge on a thread if someone has made me laugh. Not in a knicker wetting, tea spitting way.More a lol or a Grin

I lol at loads of things on here, not necessarily what anyone else would find funny though. Grin
