To think i must be a miserable old cow with regards to all the hilarity on the recent threads

I mean, people are ROARing with laughter - literally wetting themselves, crying with the hilarity of it all. Hmm

There must be something wrong with me because, yes, i think its funny mildly amusing and i enjoy reading the threads but can't be arsed to wade through the yoni stuff and will post that i think its funny or try and contribute but im a miserable cow so never find anything funny to say

Also the threads would be much shorter an easier to read if folk were to refrain from posting their reaction "oh i have just wet myself" type posts. Then everyone else thinks that they hve to keep up "oh, ive just popped a hernia i've laughed so much"

I love the funny threads, really i do, but i can't seem to muster more than a wry smile. Is it just me???

Have no idea what the 'Yoni' thing is about and can't be bothered to look.

Everytime I see 'PMSL' or some variation, I think of that annoying purple-clad TENA lady who can't seem to stay upright and doesn't.change.her.knickers.when.she.goes.out... Shock

The word Yoni actually make my fingernails all on edge and always has done so i missed the hilarity of the initial frenzy because i coudlnt bring myself to click on it.

I do have a sense of humour, honest, im known for being "naughty" in RL

It's funny, it's not funny, whatever. Surely it depends on your sense of humour. If you don't find the threads funny just ignore them.

What's more tedious is posters queuing to try to be the cool kid at school 'you're not allowed to like that anymore because I've decided it's not funny now'. Get over yourselves haterz! I didnt wet myself but I was amused and shall continue to be as long as I find it funny. Grin

Oh yes Lying I agree re that stupid simpering Tena lady, that needs a thread of it's own Grin

No one is forcing you to find it funny though Confused

So now we're not allowed to find things funny because it might offend others that don't Confused?
If I don't share the SOH on a thread, I just don't comment, I'm happy for everybody else to have a giggle though.
Maybe MN needs to compile a This is/is not funny rule in their talk guidelines.

I love it when there is a spontaneous and genuinely funny thread that people build on and it gets progressively funnier and funnier, but I do think some people need to learn less is more. Some people just don't know when to stop flogging a dead horse.

Same for me Lady, I don't find a lot of stuff funny on here, but I'm very glad that there is so much harmless giggling and interaction on here.
If people get fun out of wolefs and yonis and garlic in strange places and pombears, then what's the harm?
I have a sense of humour, but if something doesn't appeal, I scan it and move on. Unless I think it's offensive, then I tend to get vocal. Smile

There was a brilliant line abput the yoni thing tucked away somewhere..I am misquoting but it was something along the lines of

"...shooting the already dead horse, than battering it with a frying pan til it turns into Tesco's Value mince"

Well I liked it.

Well, we all have different senses of humour, I'm sure others won't find the things I think are funny very amusing. But some of the threads on here really make me laugh more than I've laughed for some time, not wet myself but certainly until tears come... the Yoni was so funny...not so much the subject as the daft comments and clever retorts that were posted...so, SO funny. "Laughter is the best medicine" and all that, I found it rather therapeutic to laugh so much...

Surely the Yoni threads were wind ups? But yes, not very funny ones. Harmless though, innit.

I think TheRealFellatio has picked hit on the reason why people dissent or comment that they don't like something. Firstly - they can do that; imagine how silent (and dull) threads would be if you just had people agreeing and nodding. Secondly, some jokes that might have been funny to start with get completely overdone with people not wanting to let it go because it gets a reaction or others jumping on the bandwagon and it becomes a 'them and us' - either you're in the 'club' or you're not in which case you are a joyless, dried up, haridan.

The multiple threads are a bit puzzling too - no different to the Margaret Thatcher ones really, just multiple droning on the same thing.

Hide button works well though, I agree. I think I've hidden 30 or so threads in the last couple of days.

Not very funny In Your Opinion Feenie.
Just as many threads aren't funny in mine.
SOH is subjective.
I laugh like a drain at things like Father Ted, or Monty Python.
I've never really got Only fools and horses.
We're all different.

If you don't find something funny, fair enough but why start a thread about it? I read the first few posts on a thread, go meh, not funny and look for something else.

I was glad of that 'yoni' thread yesterday. I am having a really shit time ATM, it did me the world of good.

A few of you have misunderstood me - i'm not criticizing - i'm EnvyEnvy jealous!! I so want to be at my computor paralysed with laughter but all i can manage is a lopsided smile! I like the funny threads and long may they continue, i post on them too - im just not funny Hmm

Lying witch - to be fair Father Ted is probably the ONLY thing that will make me LOL for real, i can't see bishop brennan being kicked up the arse enough! Thank-you: I DO have humour, its just a bit warped it would seem.

Totally agree. Only the first post of the yoni thread was funny. I think I must have broken my funny bone because I simply can't understand how anyone was wetting themselves laughing at anything that came afterwards. Some posts were mildly amusing at best.

I have read some side splitting threads on MN in the past though. The poo on the skirt on classics is my all time fave.

I clearly don't have a SOH either. I read the yoni post before anyone had replied and reported it. I thought it was spam.

I missed it. The whole thing. I do that a lot.

The mn shorthand 'cube of pooh, pombears, naice ham' is all naught to me. Missed all of it.

I won't go and read it now. Things are much funnier as they are unfolding - it becomes a shared experience. Reading it afterwards has distance that makes it awkward.
