Partly because humans have been moving into their habitats and destroying their bamboo filled forests, and partly because of humans hunting and killing them. Without any human interference they probably wouldn't be an endangered species at all.

Sorry OP. Pandas will eat meat and other non-vegetable items if available (eg they find a fresh dead animal lying around.) They just aren't very good at catching them.

They are unbelievably cute but they need to get their act together on the breeding front.

They are more than welcome to come and use my house as a love-nest as I've got a huge bamboo plant which I would love to see the back of.
