Just wondered what peoples kids do while they are on mums net. Some people are on here an awful lot even on sunny days when they should be outdoors.
I really am not judging- just curious.

Pot. Kettle. Black.

How do you know they are on here so much if you aren't on here yourself?

Nagoo · 15/08/2012 19:44

I MN at work Grin

greenwichgroove · 15/08/2012 19:44

I mumsnet at work or on my phone while at the park. Mine are old enough for me only to be needed if there is blood though.

nightowlmostly · 15/08/2012 19:45

Your nickname sounds ever so slightly superior, so I wouldn't be surprised if judging is exactly what you're doing...

FeakAndWeeble · 15/08/2012 19:45

Mines in the yard with the goats. Every so often I chuck him a Greggs sausage roll and a fruit shoot; sorted.

usualsuspect · 15/08/2012 19:45

My DS is upstairs on his laptop. He can look after himself

Propermother · 15/08/2012 19:45

I pop on now and then to be nosey and you can see looking back at the popular threads that some people have been posting for ages. Certain names keep popping up.

The house gnome. He has to work for his keep!

hazeyjane · 15/08/2012 19:45

juggling knives, sorting out razor blades, swigging from the bleach bottle, you know the usual stuff.

nokidshere · 15/08/2012 19:46

Sadly mine now look after themselves pretty much!!! At 11 and 14 my input is pretty much restricted to food, lifts and money LOL

We have had a few lovely days together over the holidays but they are always anxious to get back to their friends/scooter/x-box.

But its easier for me than some because my children are very non-demanding, rarely get bored and are very good at "chilling out" and "hanging out".

Can you not use a laptop or smartphone sitting in the sun outdoors while your children play in the garden, within sight "Propermother" (Did you name change just to post the question?).

Children don't need constant 100% focussed, undivided attention 'round the clock, otherwise how would anyone cook/ clean/ go to the toilet whilst being in sole charge of children. Of course some MNers are also childless or have teen or grown up children...

ChaoticismyLife · 15/08/2012 19:46

Dd has spent half the day asleep because she spent most of the night awake and ds has been on the laptop and watching tv.

I have been on the computer, mning and playing games, bad mother that I am WinkGrin

And how do you know the people you see aren't doing the same?

Also, just because it's sunny at your house, doesn't mean it's sunny at everyone's houses.

usualsuspect · 15/08/2012 19:47

My DDs have left home. I have no idea what they are doing.

JustFabulous · 15/08/2012 19:47

Not judging?

"should be outisde"

"who is looking after your kids"

User name "propermother"

storminabuttercup · 15/08/2012 19:47

I just give mine a greggs sausage roll and a fruit shoot and plonk him in front of the telly....

Sparklingbrook · 15/08/2012 19:47

Mine are learning to juggle using the kitchen knives.

My cat Alan is in charge of the toddler, he is a very mature cat and we have had the ' don't let pedos touch the baby' chat

I fling my 9 year old at 10 am and don't let him in till dinner time.

Krumbum · 15/08/2012 19:48

You can write on a phone or iPad whilst looking after kids Confused
Not everyone sits up in the computer room.
Why 'should' they be outside?

LurkeyLurkerson · 15/08/2012 19:48

Peppa pig's looking after mine...

Propermother · 15/08/2012 19:48

Nagoo that makes sense at my workplace net use is monitored so that wouldn't be an option for me and I also assumed everyone had little kids like me Blush
I pictured these snotty kids in their cots eating wotsits.

Naive I know.
