Just wondered what peoples kids do while they are on mums net. Some people are on here an awful lot even on sunny days when they should be outdoors.
I really am not judging- just curious.

OP posts:

I know, Tee.

I was watching you through the hole in your bathroom wall.

thegingerone · 15/08/2012 23:07

notapropermumsnetmother hope I've not got muddled over namechange.

To answer your question (which I was going to do without bile until you mentioned Wotsits.....Not in my pure White cube) ds 1 and ds2 play very nicely together in the shade (see my name) and dd smears snot all over my boobs.

The reason I'm flipping on here is because I'm vaguely concerned that I might try my hardest to "get it right" hence the posting of valid questions and the hours of voyuerism on AIBU.

SarahStratton · 15/08/2012 23:36

I think OP already left, in search of intellegent life forms Grin

drtachyon · 16/08/2012 00:05

OP obviously didn't spot the Education topics before posting here. There's a number of threads on there relating to the 11+ Wink

NarkedRaspberry · 16/08/2012 00:08

Children? Shock

Shit, I knew I'd forgotten something.

anairofhopeFORGOLD · 16/08/2012 00:13

I would perfer a bunfight with OP to being made to watch CBB :(

anairofhopeFORGOLD · 16/08/2012 00:15

To answer the question

  1. I dont know im mumsnetting Hmm
  2. I have trained their Father to look after them so i can mumsnet
perfectstorm · 16/08/2012 00:26

Totally off topic, but why, why why are people PAYING to read 50 Shades of Grey? It was Twilight fanfiction and freely available on the net for yonks. If people want to read soft porn stories then that is what the interwebz are FOR. Alongside neglecting your kids on Mumsnet, obvs.

Actually I feel bad sometimes because I post on a thread because DS (he's 3) is with my mother or at a playdate, or is sleeping well so I am staying up later, or DH has a low hours week or whatever... and I post to someone going through something awful. And then I never have a chance to go back because I have been offline for anything but essential emails, bills etc for a week or even a month at a time. And I feel like an arse. Not that they notice or care, I'm sure, but still.

perfectstorm · 16/08/2012 00:28

(I've not read it, I may add, because Twilight gives me the heebiejeebies in general. It's just the worst film I ever fell asleep in. But the principle remains the same.)

drtachyon · 16/08/2012 00:31

perfectstorm - I'd guess most people don't know about 50 Shades of Grey being fan-fiction. I didn't until I saw it mentioned in a newspaper article last week.

anairofhopeFORGOLD · 16/08/2012 00:32

Supply and demand baby Wink

People rave about something other people follow the trend and the owners put the price up to meet demand.

perfectstorm · 16/08/2012 00:47

I read that when it was first published and was all, well, nobody will buy it!

Oops.

FallenCaryatid · 16/08/2012 00:49

'perfectstorm - I'd guess most people don't know about 50 Shades of Grey being fan-fiction. I didn't until I saw it mentioned in a newspaper article last week.'

I didn't know until my daughter told me. Shock

Iteotwawki · 16/08/2012 00:51

Mine are either
A) at school
B) at kindy
C) here

I miss Wotsits /sigh. They have v inferior things here called Cheese Twisties.

AdoraBell · 16/08/2012 04:40

Mine are usually either at school or in bed. Just to save confusion, not to justify, we're in the southern hemisphere so my kids are in school while kids in UK enjoy their summer holiday and vice versa. The few mins I spend on here at weekends is when they are otherwise occupied. They would never give me a moments peace to MN if they weren't reading/making something messy arty/spending time with OH or friends.

CheerMum · 16/08/2012 07:06

I find the cheaper cheesy puff crisp types taste worse than proper wotsits but you do get better orange fingers

perfectstorm · 16/08/2012 11:04

Cheermum cheesy Doritos work well in that regard, plus are posher, so you're actually giving them a healthfood!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/08/2012 11:55

op - go to childcare section and you will see that us nannies/cm etc get a bashing all the time of - who is looking after the children while we are on mn Shock Hmm

as it is our job -therefore shouldnt be on the lappy/phone for the whole 10/12hrs that we have children in our care - where many here do mn when at work- whats the difference? :)

disclaimer im not working today so can mn as much or as little as i like Grin

ThePieWhoLovedMe · 16/08/2012 11:58

My DC1 didn't come home last night (the dirty stop out) - other DC is in his room tidying up !

TantrumsAndOlympicGoldBalloons · 16/08/2012 12:04

wont someone think of the poor children

you are missing all those precious moments

I'm just wondering if the op is in search of inteligent people why is she contemplating netmums??

properstuckupmyownarsemother I am at work, on my phone. My DCs could be doing all sorts, but given they are 14&13 I'll let them get on.

I'll text them and tell them they need to be outside.

CheerMum · 16/08/2012 16:26

Mmmmmn cheesy Doritos and medium salsa yuuuuummmmmmmm

TapirBackRider · 16/08/2012 17:45

I just love how some random person decides to post something so entirely judgy on a forum they haven't ever participated in before; then tries to justify their ridiculous post with the old saw "I think I hit a nerve"!

People really aren't so close minded and lacking in imagination to understand that there is a world outside of their own, and that it is in all probability totally different to theirs? Surely not??

Binfullofmaggotsonthe45 · 16/08/2012 18:07

Tapir this site is only for new mums, apparently. It's exclusive dontjaknow.
