Just wondered what peoples kids do while they are on mums net. Some people are on here an awful lot even on sunny days when they should be outdoors.
I really am not judging- just curious.

OP posts:
LtEveDallas · 15/08/2012 19:54

I MN mostly at work. If I'm at home DD is either looking after herself (playing outdoors mainly) or she's sitting with me chatting, or sometimes she's on the computer.

Tee2072 · 15/08/2012 19:54

No defensive responses here, actually...

And yes, Propermother, all sorts of mums with all sorts of aged children. Dads too. Oh and some posters have no children at all!

BTW, mine is currently asleep. I think I fed him...

ChaoticismyLife · 15/08/2012 19:54

Debeez love it Grin I wish they'd had those around when mine were babies.

FallenCaryatid · 15/08/2012 19:55
Grin Yes, egg on face. Never mind, you could namechange from that ridiculously pompous one and start over. My PFB is 21. How old is yours?
KenLeeeeeee · 15/08/2012 19:55

Mine are fine. Locked in the baby cage, innit. They have a bowl of water and some Haribo to keep 'em going. Baby really likes the Tangfastics in particular.

FuntimeFelicity · 15/08/2012 19:55

I refer the OP to the threads from every other school holiday when this question is asked.

Just for reference, my dc are usually doing something thoroughly dangerous but probably educational in the long run. I'll investigate exactly what when the screaming starts.

Fiveflowers · 15/08/2012 19:55

DD1 is looking after her own children

DS is working

DD2 is sleeping (working night shift)

They're all independent adults and don't need looking after.

Why should I be outdoors?

Petsinmyolympicpudenda · 15/08/2012 19:56

I think Alan having such a sensible name has made him mature.

I would never trust my kids with a cat called fife or twinkle - they would be flaky and probably let the baby chew wires or something

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 15/08/2012 19:56

I'm on here while my 4 and 5 year old play Call Of Duty. I throw them a pepperami when they get peckish

Petsinmyolympicpudenda · 15/08/2012 19:56

Fifi not fife although I wouldn't trust fife either

scentednappyhag · 15/08/2012 19:56

They are perfectly taken care of between the cook and the butler, all kinds of hilarious hijinks occur and it enables me to sit by the pool and watch our young gardener tend to my bush while indulging in a mid morning mojito.
You sound a bit tense to be honest OP, shall I send over my masseuse?

ImperialBlether · 15/08/2012 19:57

My children have left home, so I'm afraid I don't know exactly what they're doing at the moment. I have long summer holidays and am writing a novel so pop in and out of here every time I'm struggling.

That do you?

Lisatheonewhoeatsdrytoast · 15/08/2012 19:57

I'll have you know Ben and Holly are very responsible babysitters and have nanny plum around to help oh and the Power Rangers, (at least i know he's safe with them ;))
If they fail i have a 16yr old black lab who is uber responsible Grin

bloodyfurious · 15/08/2012 19:57

I mumsnet from my phone, in between being a bad mother and making sure the DCs dont hurt each other of course, at the moment, I am mumsnetting from my laptop, and the DCs are outside on the drive with other kids from the street, of course I could be hovering over them watching them, but Id be the only parent out there.

I can see them through the window, does that count

CheerMum · 15/08/2012 19:58

I used me bennyfit money to buy the kid a computer so that keeps her quiet so me and the goat can use the iPad (or she can watch the 69 inch tv)

Wheresthedamndog · 15/08/2012 20:00

Mumsnet is for people who write messages on forums, not look after their kids.

Dunno where mine are. Can't see straight since I necked the last of the Irn Bru.

5madthings · 15/08/2012 20:00

i wrap my 5 up with bondage tape whilst i mnet, doesnt everybody?.... Grin

CheerMum · 15/08/2012 20:00

If she gets whiney I just chuck her a can of Diamond White

hiddenhome · 15/08/2012 20:01

I've sent my eldest out to buy cigs and beer and the youngest is scrubbing the kitchen floor Grin

GhostShip · 15/08/2012 20:01

I haven't got kids.

Usually certain people are on at certain times so you can tell that's when they have their free time.

Not that that has anything to do with you, kindly frig orf.

ThisIsNotHoneyDragon · 15/08/2012 20:02

Erm it's actually rained here all day, and although we have been out we chose to watch Beauty and the Beast indoors instead.

Right this minute I am supervising the 9 yo, supervising the 2yo in the bath.

No one appears to have been drowned yet but the wot sit stains are proving tricky to get off.

MelanieSminge · 15/08/2012 20:02

Grin @ hiddenhome
DS is out with the youth crime prevention team and DD is sleeping in a caravan up the mountain.

MsNobodyAgain · 15/08/2012 20:04

Yes, the fact someone posts on MN at 9am, 11am, 2pm etc obviously means they have been staring at the computer all day whilst neglecting the kids. Hmm

Good grief.

Just got to hand the kids a Fruit Shoot, a sausage roll and a dangerous sharp object then I'll be right back.

ThisIsNotHoneyDragon · 15/08/2012 20:04

5 bondage tape is for mermaids dressing up, not child safety you tweedle Hmm

I am considering a namechange to ProperHoneyDragon

EdithWeston · 15/08/2012 20:05

They're being brought up by wolves.
