To complain if a YHA posts pictures of beef tortilla on my facebook wall (I am a vegetarian)

This morning when I checked into my facebook wall a large picture of a beef tortilla was posted on it from a Youth hostel. I am friends with this YouthHostel having stayed there with family some years ago and had a lovely time. I go because it (and others) are self catering and outdooorsy) I felt sick- I am a hindu vegetaria. I asked the hostelmanager to remove the picture from my wall but instead the hostel defriended me 'for my own protection' AM I unreasonable to think a youth hostelling association should stick to pictures of the outdoors and hostel events and avoid posting stuff which could upset people of different cultures?

funnyperson · 13/07/2012 20:01

noblegiraffe I think you are right: this wasnt anything personal and I have been silly to take it personally.

This thread has been a veal eye opener. I think the YHA made a big mis-steak. You should tell them to burger off. Don't mince your words either.

BupcakesandCunting · 13/07/2012 20:02

Best. Thread. Ever.

Classics, please!

RandomNumbers · 13/07/2012 20:03

BonkeyMollocks · 13/07/2012 20:04

Grin catgirl

EverybodysDoeEyed · 13/07/2012 20:04

If you defriend them it may piss them off and spur them on during their hateful beef loving campaign. You might wake up and find a beef tortilla tattooed to your forehead!

But honestly, you need to step away from Facebook if you are taking things like his to heart. It is an advertising campaign an I'm sure they also send emails and leaflets with this kind of picture on, as do other organisations.

SleepyFergus · 13/07/2012 20:08

YABVU. As well as very precious. You honestly think the YHA is targeting you with a beef tortilla. Lordy!!

puffyankles · 13/07/2012 20:11

You could have pasted a picture of tofu on the YHA board just to vex the carnivore lot.

hairylemon · 13/07/2012 20:11

A thread hasn't made me Grin this much beefore.

LadyBeagleEyes · 13/07/2012 20:11

Mumsnetters are genius at puns.Grin
You do seem to have a beef with the YHA, though.
I think you should moove on.

EverybodysDoeEyed · 13/07/2012 20:12

Maybe someone at yha hq is deliberately sending the most offensive picture they can find to each subscriber in some weird room 101 experiment

They'll be someone on in a minute saying hey were sent a picture of tony blair

Just when you think you've seen every degree of howling insanity on MN along comes another boiler to prove you wrong!

Anyway - this is a bull shit wind up. So have a Biscuit with added juicy textured beef.

hugandroll · 13/07/2012 20:17

catgirl you just made me laugh an actual real life lol.
