to think that women are stupid?

elsewhere, there is a complaint about being unsupported when breastfeeding. this is a feminist issue - and the fault lies fairly and squarely at the feet of women.

i am astounded that after the battles fought in the seventies and eighties, women have allowed such regression.

look how stupid women are today. they have their bodies surgically adapted to men's fantasies - breasts enlarged, labia trimmed - they bleach their hair, tattoo their eyeliner and lipstick and have themselves spray-painted. they remove their pubic hair so they look like children for their (multiple) partners. if you read about it in a book on social anthropology you'd be horrified at the 'oppression' of women. but women think they are choosing this!

then they say 'oh, its not fair, no-one supports me when i'm breastfeeding'. too damn right they don't. because you and your compatriots have allowed everyone to see you as barbie dolls to use and abuse. they don't want to see you being women, being grown up, feeding your babies, that spoils the fantasy. you created this; live with it.

when you've finished screaming at me about your 'rights' to have your mons pubis decorated with fake jewels and to have your isabella piercing, organise yourselves.

wash your faces, let the fake tan fade, cut off your dyed hair and let it grow back naturally, so your babies can recognise the human being their genetic memory was expecting to find here. stay free from chemicals that mask your natural odours, so your babies can recognise you by smell. if people are pressurising you to 'go back to work' say, 'certainly. when this baby chooses to stop breastfeeding'. that gives you four to five years at home, maybe longer, when you are doing something no-one else can - being your babies' mothers.

the 'male' has been accepted as the 'norm' in society - so some early feminists wanted to be like men - some of that lingers. but feminists who believe in the strength and value of the female, have retreated into hiding. wake up! speak up! these are your daughters, sisters, aunts, even your mothers tarting themselves up and whoring themselves out to all and sundry trying to be 'wives and girlfriends'! they're too stupid to realise they've been conned!

educate your daughters. make them aware of political and societal manipulation. make women free - free from pressure to look a certain way, behave a certain way. free, in fact, to be women. free to want to eat without guilt, work, reproduce, raise children, form partnerships, find contentment and find peace of mind.

don't leave this to someone else. if strong women don't act to make the world a better place for women, no-one will. and in twenty years' time, i'll be reading 'oh, society doesn't support breast-feeding mothers'. again.

Ooh. I wasn't aware that half of my face is sexual!

Ok, OP. Feminism 101: Women are not stupid. Women are not responsible for the expectations and norms perpetuated by the PATRIACHY (i.e. men).

You cover so much in that OP that I don't really know where to start. Just go away. Think about how your women hating is actually going to fix the problems you see.

If it helps, I think you are hugely misguided, but that your evident frustration at the status quo is valid. I think you just need to re-think where you aim the frustration. Yes, some women could stop playing the game that the patriachy sets up for us, but, ultimately, the patriachy needs to change the game altogether. that's the only way the painted barbie doll image will disappear.

Op - are you actually a man? How can you be a feminist and think all women are stupid??

So according to you - women can only be deemed intelligent if we all wear no make up, no hair colour, and have hairy arm pits.......Um surely then we would all look the same and have no indivisualism?

I choose to live my life how I want - not how anyone tells me, particulalry someone having a very uneducated rant on a public forum...

So that's why I couldn't breastfeed, I dye my hair and shave my legs.

intresting but rather amuseing rant going on there op.

given that i have significant tattoos,i also have breast implants i wear make-up when i remember to put it on i prefer to wear high heals a couple of days a week,i breast feed and work and i use deodrant and sented soap, i have had more than one sexual partner and have been known to occasionally use fake tan,how would you surgest i redeam myself and stop being a stupid woman?

at what point do or did i become unatural and stupid at what point did i cross the line from acceptable hygine and personal grooming?

I really do not understand the arbitrary links the OP seems to be making

Firstly the allegation that a woman who cares about her appearance cannot breast feed. I know plenty of women who breastfeed their babies well beyond a year. The recent Time magazine cover showed a woman who was beautiful, clearly took care of herself yet was feeding her 3 year old.

Secondly the OP is saying that women cannot work and also breast feed. By the time most women return to work at 9-12 months, most babies only need to be fed morning and evening, and maybe during the night, so there is no reason why feeding can't continue beyond returning to work.

OP you are BU and talking 50 shades of shit

That should have said 'plenty of women who breast feed well beyond a year and also have their hair, nails, waxing done'

Yep, I have worked full tome from both chodren being about 11 months. I fed ds until 4 and dd is nearly 3 and still going.
I don't do much with my appearance, no make ip or heels (un general, not a rule) but that's my choice and has always been that way

I wonder if you live in the deepest darkest areas of Essex? Hmm that's the only place where I've ever seen any more than a scant eighth or so of the women dressed as you say, and even then that's only in certain parts!

Most women don't dress like that, and those that do 'Speak Up!' certainly don't get listened to anyway, if people choose to dress like that then leave them too it! Though I am also of the opinion that it makes most girls (and men RE the tans!) look awful, it's up to them.

Oddly I think the OP makes some good points but you do have to dig past the vitriol and contradictions to get there!! What prompted this particular rant? Do you teach teenagers?

Agree with Chandon though, if you think the UK is bad you need to spend some time at the school gates in S. America. You would be apoplectic!!!

Oh good Christ.

Are you one of these men who likes the 'natural' look... as modelled by Kylie Minogue?

My DP used to peddle this deluded shit too.

'I hate when you use fake tan, I prefer the natural look'

Oh really DP, point me out one of your favourite natural beauties? Charlize Theron, Angelina Jolie and Cat Deeley, you say? Why of course. They simply wake up each day plucked, waxed, highlighted, and caramel coloured.

You don't want to see me looking natural, you fuckwit. Really, you don't.

In order to help a couple of people on this thread:

the big bang theory - the point of the programme is dispite their intelligence, the men are all losers. (And yes, ugly, they are shown regularly as feeling insecure - dispite their intellegence and academic success - to better looking men, it's a regular feature.)

Tattooing on lipstick - I've never heard of this, I think what the OP is talking about is tattooing on lip liner - this is very popular with woman with undefined lip lines - some woman it's not clear where their 'face skin' ends and lip skin starts, they often just have a slightly darker than their natural lip colour tattooed on, usually a 2-3 year lasting tattoo rather than perm. The only woman I know who've had their eyebrows tattooed are woman who've lost their facial hair due to cancer treatment, it's quite a common practice amongst woman going through that rather than having to draw them on every day. However, I do know it's becoming increasingly popular as darker (ironically more natural) looking eyebrows are more fashionable than the super thin 'high maintenance' lines of the late 90's/00s.

the other regular 'semi-perm' makeup a lot of woman use is dying eyelashes, again, very popular with woman who are red heads and have eyelashes so pale they can't be seen without make up, it's a good way to avoid having to do make up every day or look odd (interestingly, this is becoming increasingly popular with red headed men who are getting less embarrassed about having beauty treatments - although men tend to go for brown/dark blonde colours rather than black for eyelashes, you probably wouldn't notice it had been done if it's been done well)

wow OP - you don't like women much do you?

as a strong feminist with a history of actively fighting oppression I say - do sod off - I shave my legs and dye my hair - it doesn't effect my politics - it's a CHOICE something I believe all women should have - it's very oppressive of you to start dictating what is an 'acceptable' look to have

Yes OP I do think some women are stupid.

Especially those who read a couple of books on feminism and then assume they have the right to judge other women and pour scorn on their free choice, because they feel those women will not 'comply' with what they believe feminism should be.

Some women just won't toe the line and be told what to do with their own bodies by men or radical feminists.

Silly little women who won't be bullied, they must annoy the hell out of you.

I can quite see why you'd rather delude yourself into thinking they do these things for men because otherwise you'd have to face the truth.

I do however agree with this bit of your OP...."make women free - free from pressure to look a certain way, behave a certain way. free, in fact, to be women"

This would include freedom from the judging and scorn of radical feminists Wink

Leave women alone. Just because they don't want to live their lives the way you've chosen to live yours, does not make them wrong....nor does it mean they even necessarily consider men when they make their choices.

A pp has mentioned that a.huge amount.of men wax, use tan, get surgery etc to change the way they look.

Does that make them stupid too?? Is the whole human race doomed to a future of stupidity????

I love the way OP used breastfeeding as the example by which so many of us have failed, kicking a lot of women in the sorest point.

OP you must be a very ignorant man or a very ugly 'no amount if makeup will help' kind if woman...inside and out.

"make women free " You're not making us free though - you want us tied to our babies 24 hours a day when we might, or might not, want to go to work. I don't dye anything, inject anything or have surgery on anything, but I retain the right not to smell of 'natural' body odour thankyou.

Oh and I fed all my babies - the last until he was nearly 4. I also worked. It is possible.

We need to keep extremists of all kinds out of classrooms imo...whether they be religious extremists, feminist extremists or any other kind.

It's not healthy.

I didn't read the whole thread. Shoot me. So I am repeating I'm sure.

  1. Women are not 'stupid' for doing these things, however much you may disagree. I agree lots of the things you mention are feminist issues but calling other women stupid pretty much undermines your feminist point.

  2. I do hate 'stupid' used as an insult. But there's the old truism - there are worse things to be and nasty is one of them.

So bleaching your hair is about pandering to male fantasies is it? I have bleached hair, half of my head is shaved and I have dreads...I don't think that's really to do with men's fantasies is it? I do it because I like it.

You go on about choice, and then seem to deny women of that very thing. I'm all for women wanting to be happy in their natural bodies, but not everyone who modifies their body (either permanently or not), does it because they're oppressed, what a ridiculous notion.
