loose...?

If you're going to be a twat, at least spell properly.

LentillyFart · 04/07/2012 16:42

Lose. It's lose. You want him to lose.

Quite why you'd spend your presumably valuable time on a negative thing like this is another mystery.

SquidgyBiscuits · 04/07/2012 16:42

Any particular reason?

Nervousfirsttimer · 04/07/2012 16:42

No you are not. The man is a prize nobber and I will be delighted when he inevitably gets knocked out! (hate his mother too, not sure why but her face just annoys me!)

WorraLiberty · 04/07/2012 16:42

You want him to loosen up?

LentillyFart · 04/07/2012 16:43

You hate his mother? Shock. Do you know her well then?

Labootin · 04/07/2012 16:43

Shudder at loose

Queenofsiburbia · 04/07/2012 16:43

Loose or lose, I agree with you OP.

Seems rather mean OP.

Loose = not taut, fixed or rigid.
Lose = suffer loss, be defeated.

Just so you know Wink

LaurieFairyCake · 04/07/2012 16:45

yabu

that tennis stuff is hard

and there's no point being a dick about it in life generally.

NutmegKate · 04/07/2012 16:46

I don't understand sentiments like this. Why on earth would you be "cheering" for someone to lose something.

MrsReiver · 04/07/2012 16:48

I'm cheering for Ferrer to win, and I'm Scottish. If Alec Salmond knew he'd have me hand in my bagpipes and boot me over the border.

WillSingForCake · 04/07/2012 16:48

You sound delightful. Such a mean unsporting attitude.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 04/07/2012 16:48

YABU - it's about time we won wimbledon...dont such an old meanie!

Sidge · 04/07/2012 16:49

I don't understand that sort of attitude.

I can see that you might have a preference that one person wins rather than the other, but to be cheering on someone to lose is just spiteful.

HappyJoyful · 04/07/2012 16:49

goodness I didn't know it was such a 'sin' to making a quickly written post without massive thought and get flamed for a spelling mistake.. is that what mumsnet is about ?

Thanks for those in agreement though..

Can't give a particular reason - well I could - but would risk further flaming I guess.

What the hell - I find him arrogant, pushy mother, annoying and not pleasant to watch (call me fickle) and feel free to flame my spelling some more in this if that is all people want to do I have no problem.

OP posts:
UnimaginitiveDadThemedUsername · 04/07/2012 16:50

People who write 'loose' for 'lose make me a bit killy.

Nervousfirsttimer · 04/07/2012 16:50

Ok, fair point don't hate her, just hate her pushy parent vibe and smug face when he wins so much as a point.
The fact is he is an arsehole and there is always an excuse when he doesn't live up to the hype. I'm not cheering for him to lose, just cheering for whoever he is playing to win!

MrsReiver · 04/07/2012 16:52

Slightly O/T but an interesting titbit all the same - whenever Tim Henman speaks, I hear Jack Dee.

LadySybilPussPolham · 04/07/2012 16:52

Yes YABU. Let's sneer and criticise and hope that a player from another country beats him. Why? Because he doesn't have a sparkling personality? Doesn't flirt when interviewed? Because he's a (gasp) slightly dour Scotsman who speaks his mind and just wants to get on with his job? God forbid we should judge purely on sporting talent

IAmSherlocked · 04/07/2012 16:52

Pretty much! Grin We have standards, you know.

I did occupy myself by wondering what I'd like him to loosen - his racquet strings? his shorts? or to loose a herd of wildebeest onto Centre Court?
