a set down and I'm beaming...

Of course you are going to be personally slated. You reap what you sow.

MrsReiver · 04/07/2012 18:27

I am familiar with the area and the people ;)

MAYBELATERNOWIMBUSY · 04/07/2012 18:32

he is the 4th in world rankings , he plays tennis very well, he is no doubt everything you wish you had achieved in your life but have not,bet he does not have your meanness of spirit !

JollyGoodFun · 04/07/2012 18:33

So, English folk are allowed to support whoever is playing against Murray because he is Scottish rather than British. These are the same people who get upset when Scots don't support the ENGLISH football team, which is definitely not British.

Will you also be supporting whoever is racing against Chris Hoy at the Olympics? I understand he feels that he's Scottish.

ChaoticismyLife · 04/07/2012 18:39

I don't care who supports who. If some Scots wish to support ABE that's their choice, same if anyone wants to support ABMurray.

I have no idea who Chris Hoy is.

HappyJoyful · 04/07/2012 18:39

I was clearly wrong and perhaps thick to associate comments which were just, as I have tried to say intended to be just about a winner or a loser in a tennis match- they weren't supposed to be 'controversial' or 'cool' and I didn't think standing up for someone to win or lose a match was that.
I agree though perhaps my justifications were then 'personal' if someone wishes to stick up for the mother or Murray no probs, happy to agree to differing opinions.

OP posts:
redlac · 04/07/2012 18:42

Well said Jolly.

Hahaha at all the English posters being all po faced - just cos Timmy was pish and how dare a Scotsman, who supports Scotland at football and ONCE mentioned anyone but England to wind up Timmy, be good at a sport when an Englishman isnt in the top ten world rankings

Git it right up ye!

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 04/07/2012 18:46

Well I don't like him either.
I do not support him just because he happens to be British, and I am too.

I am hoping Roger wins in the end.

Babymamaroon · 04/07/2012 18:47

I agree! He famously said he wanted "anyone by England" to win the World cup. So I say "anyone but Murray!".

ChaoticismyLife · 04/07/2012 18:48

What I meant to say in my last post was that if the OP wants to support ABMurray that's her right Hmm

JosephineCD · 04/07/2012 18:49

I am English and I am supporting Murray.

redlac · 04/07/2012 18:52

"famously said" - he was a teenager who said it ONCE to wind up Tim Henman!! Do you always use such flimsy reasons to dislike someone?

LentillyFart · 04/07/2012 18:56

Anyone is, of course and rightly, perfectly free to dislike whomsoever they choose. You, OP, did not just say that you dislike Andy Murray in which case you would not have been unreasonable. You were smug and downright nasty with your 'beaming' that he was a set down and you hoped he would lose. LOSE. Don't get all prissy about being picked up on your spelling - we have done you a favour since I doubt you will make that mistake again. As has been mentioned AM had a traumatic experience in his early years which I am sure has contributed to his distinct lack of fake skippiness. Give that a little thought why don't you?

Frontpaw · 04/07/2012 19:00

And it was in response to 'Come on Tim!' Henman making a crack about not wanting Scotland to win, but we don't keep whinging on about that, do we?

WilsonFrickett · 04/07/2012 19:00

Rain Sad still at least I can get some work done...

NutmegKate · 04/07/2012 19:01

Oh, and just to be fair to Henman:- he was once ranked number 4 in the world and got to the semi finals at Wimbledon 4 times. You just don't do that if you're crap.

Scheherezade · 04/07/2012 19:05

Yanbu, he is a miserable, ungrateful, racist twat.

Scheherezade · 04/07/2012 19:06

Oh, add whiny cheater to the list.

redlac · 04/07/2012 19:08

Don't like him then Scheherazade?

I don't think identifying yourself as scottish and not supporting England makes you racist

redlac · 04/07/2012 19:09

And in what way is he ungrateful?

You'd be fucking miserable too if Thomas Hamilton broke into your school and killed children in the same primary as you

FayeGovan · 04/07/2012 19:11

In the media, Andy Murray will be British until he loses

then it'll be "Scotlands Andy Murray"

predictable or what

ClaireBunting · 04/07/2012 19:13

Cheater?

MrsReiver · 04/07/2012 19:13

Tim Henman was 4th in the world and he's pish? That's the same ranking Murray is currently is.

redlac · 04/07/2012 19:16

Okay Tim wasn't pish - however he was BORING :)

MrsReiver · 04/07/2012 19:17

I'll give you that. But he does seem like a jolly nice chap.
