....and she says her 7 months old daughter "loves fashion".

i rest my case.

OP posts:
GirlWithPointyShoes · 12/02/2012 23:42

You seem to know a lot about her and exactly what she does.

Is that you Geri? Shock

ShellyBoobs · 12/02/2012 23:42

Wow! Shock

Are people serious when they're talking about OP being 'hateful', 'rude', 'vile', accusing her of spewing bile?

I didn't realise that all this fly on the wall TV bollocks and celebrity worship had got to people so deeply.

ThatVikRinA22 · 12/02/2012 23:45

girl i was reading the interview that was linked on this thread with a view to showing me how very hard she was working....

arf!

OP posts:
ImperialBlether · 12/02/2012 23:46

I thought the way she was talking was vile, Shelly. Not because I'm a big VB fan; she hardly registers on my consciousness. I don't like anyone who talks like that about another person.

southeastastra · 12/02/2012 23:48

op hardly described vb as the antichrist

ThatVikRinA22 · 12/02/2012 23:51

i have quite a work ethic....i was homeless at 15, so had to give up my education to support myself. i do find this hero worship to celebrity a bit odd, but i can live with it- i just am not vile, or bitter, but i do not consider being a WAG a career, the interview linked made me laugh tbh - rather than make me reconsider my view on VB it only compounded my view that she does not work...how can anyone say their 7 month old "loves fashion" ???? weirdness ahoy...

OP posts:
yellowraincoat · 12/02/2012 23:54

But all she does is work in a different field to you. Honestly, you have no idea how much or how little she works.

So she's a little kooky. What celebrity doesn't? She's always seemed to have her tongue a bit in her cheek to me.

ThatVikRinA22 · 13/02/2012 00:00

so lets all worship at the church of "ok magazine"....

fuck me sideways....im actually gobsmacked that people are defending a woman who does nothing but get her hair and nails done. read the interview that was linked on here and see how very little this woman does for her millions.

she doesnt work in a different field to me. she doesnt work. full stop. im amazed that people feel the need to rush to the beckhams defence! so they are worth their money are they?

tell that to the starving of africa.....im amazed. but not, sadly, surprised.

OP posts:
yellowraincoat · 13/02/2012 00:02

Honestly, Vicar, I think I care less about her than you seem to. She doesn't really register on my conscience, but you seem to spend a lot more time than I do worrying about what she does or doesn't do.

That to me is pretty much the same as worship, just the other side of the coin.

Rich famous people have their weird rich famous person lives. None of the stuff you read in the papers is real so what does it matter?

ThatVikRinA22 · 13/02/2012 00:09

its not like i dream about VB....it just made me question the whole work thing as i watched jonathon ross today....

i couldnt normally give a rats arse tbh, but the whole idea that this woman works hard for a living does make me laugh.

she wouldnt know hard work if it bit her on the arse. that interview compounds it!

OP posts:
ThatVikRinA22 · 13/02/2012 00:10

...maybe thats my problem. i dont buy a paper! ever!

i obviously need to start reading the daily mail to get some sense of perspective!

OP posts:
yellowraincoat · 13/02/2012 00:10

But how do you know? Do you actually know anything about her? Maybe you think her work is a piece of piss or she does nothing or whatever. But you don't actually know.

scottishmummy · 13/02/2012 00:16

I like vb
She gets on with her successful business
Largely circumspect not traipsing self and kids about like commodities. Quite composed

ThatVikRinA22 · 13/02/2012 00:21

the interview linked details her working life....

i cant help how i feel,. i was homeless at 15, gave up an education in order to eat.
i have fought tooth and nail for everything i have. i consider VB to have not a job.i have read that interview. its not changed my mind, its compounded what i already thought,. that she does not have a proper job and never has had. that woman has not done a proper days work in her entire life, im sorry - but she hasnt! i would say the same of say....Kerry Katona! hard life - yes. hard days work? no.

some people have never had to work hard,. footballers wives are i would say among that group. being a self proclaimed fashion designer is hardly the same as getting up at 5am and catching a bus to work...or standing in a shop for 8 hours a day, or stacking shelves, or answering a phone to pissed off people, or trying to nurse people with limited resources, or wiping the elderlys arses, or trying to police with no resources, no cars, no staff....

OP posts:
BrightnessFalls · 13/02/2012 00:23

What is a "proper" job? Anything thats not in the entertainment industry, is that what you are saying Confused

yellowraincoat · 13/02/2012 00:25

But you could say that about a lot of jobs. What does it matter? I'm sure what David Beckham said was just a throwaway comment.

She's not really a self-proclaimed fashion designer either - people do wear her clothes ergo she's a fashion designer.

It's not like she came from a super rich family and is now swanning around proclaiming to be the hardest working person on the planet.

scottishmummy · 13/02/2012 00:25

So you're from school hard knocks, overcame adversity
But hell posh spice pushes all your buttons doesn't she....how v v curious that you're so animated

ThatVikRinA22 · 13/02/2012 00:27

nope. thats not what im saying. im saying the likes of victoria beckham, colleen rooney, kerry katona, jordan, have not done a proper days work in their lives. They earn their money from being a celeb. they are tired if they have to catch a plane. they worry about their hair and make up and nails.
nice work if you can get it. its not a proper job.

OP posts:
ThatVikRinA22 · 13/02/2012 00:28

off to bed now as up for my proper job in the morning....gnite Smile

OP posts:
bubbagump · 13/02/2012 00:33

I agree with Scottishmummy.

What have they done to you, why are their jobs less valuable than others? Get a grip, and don't talk to me, I am a sahm, with less children than VB, what does that make me? No don't tell me.

BrightnessFalls · 13/02/2012 00:37

What about actors who make millions for starring in one film? what about banker's wives? The Beckhams arent the only mega rich people in the world. We all have different jobs. I dont think of myself as less or more deserving than VB just because I work for the NHS. I dont begrudge anyone their millions.

ThatVikRinA22 · 13/02/2012 00:49

i think SAHM are extremely valuable. its a personal choice. i couldnt afford to stay at home when i had my children.

i dont see celebrities as having a proper job. raising children is a job. its not paid - but its a job, and an extremely valuable and under rated one.

im really shocked that people think being a celeb is a job. fine. so katie price is a serious author then. Kerry katona is.....what? but they are all worth their millions.
they are worth so much more than the teacher that has care of your children
or the care worker that wipes your grandparents arses
or the nurse that cares for you or your kids in hospital
or the gp you see when your ill
or the nursery nurse you leave your baby with
or even your dog walker.
because celebrity is worth more genuinely shocked. VB does not work. she plays. she could do nothing on her millions, she decides to be a fashion designer and hey presto! she is one....cos she is interested in fashion.
well so am i! but without her millions i would bet i would get nowhere.
So while banking bosses are turning down millions in bonuses at the public outcry darling VB can do no wrong.....how much do these people earn? and for what? its fine - be a celeb - but dont try to tell me its a proper job! its not!

OP posts:
spingspong · 13/02/2012 00:50

I was having a wander round Harvey Nicks designer dept last week (spending my imaginary millions) and saw the VB section so thought I'd have a nose - every single dress bar two out if the whole collection had sold out. Whether she designed them or not, which I think she did, she's talented at getting people to buy them. And they were lovely, really well made.

spingspong · 13/02/2012 00:55

So if "celebs" don't have proper jobs and are a waste of space would you rather a world with no music, films, sport, design? Are only jobs you consider worthy?
