To think that if you have a clock on the mantlepiece it needs to go in the middle?

Or am I being anal? My children say so. I don't think I am, but I need support from the MN jury. How could the clock go on one end? That would be wrong.

Right now it goes plant, photo frame, photo frame, CLOCK, photo frame, body sort of sculpture thing, flowers.

But clock in the middle. Yes?!

Hercule Poirot managed to solve murders based on the unsymmetrical arrangement of other people's mantelpieces.

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 08/02/2012 17:02

Did he Pip? Which one of us would have been in the frame for the murder then? The 'middlers', the 'one-third inners', the 'at the enders' or the 'can't see the clock anyway for the pile of crappers'?

KFS
OTI

OTI = One Third In.

Calendars are hung from a nail on the kitchen wall. All four of them on the same nail. And only the back one is written on.

KnottyLocks · 08/02/2012 19:01

Calendars on nails. Correct.

As you were.

piprabbit · 08/02/2012 20:11

The murders are the ones who fiddle with the arrangement of the mantelpiece after it has been symmetrically arranged.

Obviously.

piprabbit · 08/02/2012 20:13

murderers Blush

TwoStepsBack · 08/02/2012 20:18

Calenders should be on nails and should show the correct month.

Crossing off days as you go along is optional - but should be done neatly if you choose to do so.

nickelDorritt · 08/02/2012 20:21

Calendars should be on proper picture hooks.

RustyBear · 08/02/2012 20:24

Piprabbit - on the evidence of this thread the fiddlers would be the victims

It's probably why Piste's knives are bloody....

KnottyLocks · 08/02/2012 20:41

Calendars = nails. Hooks the wrong shape for my calendar.

pictures = picture hooks or nails

TwoStepsBack · 08/02/2012 21:02

I don't understand picture hooks.

Don't you need nails to put up the picture hooks?

Why not cut out the middle man? Confused

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/02/2012 21:48

Nails for pictures
Calendar on magnetic grippy sorta peg but not really but nearly thingy thing stuck on the side of the fridge. Ideally one should write things on calendars......
Knives, forks spoons.
Pants, vests, socks
Baby sounds cute
Clock in the middle

IANBU!

KnottyLocks · 08/02/2012 21:59

Oh yes you are.

Magnetic grippy shitty sorta peggy poncey arse.

Wot you need is a nail.

nickelDorritt · 08/02/2012 22:07

you need nails, but they're little tiny pins, not proper nails.
you need to have picture hooks because it looks neater

so
CPH

whose baby? my baby?

KnottyLocks · 08/02/2012 22:20

Nickel, eh? What has neater got to do with it?

(Yes, your baby Grin)

nickelDorritt · 08/02/2012 22:21

aw, fanx! Grin

neater looks better- same as the clock being in the middle looks neater - therefore it must be correct

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/02/2012 22:36

Grin Yes your baby Nickel!

I can't use a nail because I haven't got any walls, so it has to go on the fridge and I don't want cold air leaking out through random nail holes. So I have to use magnetic grippy shitty sorta peggy poncey arsey things.

Anyway I bloody well shut the door!

My calendar is a white-board wipe off type. It is large and permanently affixed to the wall.

I tried to find this Matthew Wright nonsense, but couldn't. Hmmph.
