To think that if you have a clock on the mantlepiece it needs to go in the middle?

Or am I being anal? My children say so. I don't think I am, but I need support from the MN jury. How could the clock go on one end? That would be wrong.

Right now it goes plant, photo frame, photo frame, CLOCK, photo frame, body sort of sculpture thing, flowers.

But clock in the middle. Yes?!

Two clocks on New York and London time? You could add Tokyo, etc, at your leisure.

But seriously, my clock is not in the middle.
There, I've said it.

I am a mother of two and my clock is not in the middle.

MateyMooo · 07/02/2012 20:51

my dd complains that when i wipe the window ledge i never put anything back in its proper place.

i tell her to put them where she wants them, cos i'm not bothered where they go because they are pretty in any order.

ElizabethDarcy · 07/02/2012 22:02

Watch the Wright Stuff tomorrow... they're talking about this thread! Wink

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 07/02/2012 22:44

Pistey will you be tuning into pob's Matthew's show tomorrow to see if he calls you a loser on live television?

You could phone in!

PisteyIsABigFanOfMatthewWright · 07/02/2012 22:49

Grin I am on the case Grin

ElizabethDarcy · 07/02/2012 22:53

Why does he refer to the OP as 'loser' though? I don't watch him very often... is this a general attitude he has toward Mumsnet?

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 07/02/2012 23:05

I think it's fair to say that is his general attitude to pretty much everyone, but he does seem to have a special dislike of Mumsnet.

PisteyIsABigFanOfMatthewWright · 08/02/2012 07:09

Well I am a big fan...

PS middle!!!

Sparklingbrook · 08/02/2012 07:20

So, just to clarify, On The Wright Stuff this morning the topic is-'Do clocks go in the middle of the Mantlepiece'? Or have I misunderstood? Confused

PisteyIsABigFanOfMatthewWright · 08/02/2012 07:22

Yes along with other important topics...

It's up for discussion along side 'Gay marriage in Church', 'Is it ever alright to drink with your kids' and 'Do we need a new safe-sex campaign'

Sadly I shall miss it, but will catch up later

Sparklingbrook · 08/02/2012 07:25

Oh right. Well I shall watch/Sky+ with interest. Grin I think the mantelpiece topic is the most interesting of the four TBH.

PisteyIsABigFanOfMatthewWright · 08/02/2012 07:26

So it goes

Yes if you want to
Yes
Possibly
middle!

Sparklingbrook · 08/02/2012 07:27

Exactly. Wonder who is on the panel today?

FaginShmagin · 08/02/2012 07:29

Ok

Middle

Knives forks spoons

Pointless knobend

All subjects covered. Smile

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 08/02/2012 07:29

Sparklingbrook The quote from the Facebook group for TWS is:

"WEDNESDAY PREVIEW: KEEPING THE MANTEL PEACE?
And finally: Keeping the mantel peace? Your help please for yet another Mumsnet loser who clearly has too much time on her hands. This woman wants to know - if you have a clock on the mantelpiece, does it need to go in the middle? She?s adamant it should. But does she need to live more dangerously? Your advice please."

Are you looking forward to getting all the helpful advice from the nice viewers Pistey? Wink

Sparklingbrook · 08/02/2012 07:32

Ooh. Well a quick mooch on C5 website says MW is joined by human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell today. So mantelpiece topic must be v important to warrant that. Wink

PisteyIsABigFanOfMatthewWright · 08/02/2012 07:40

Looking forward to Peter Tatchell opine on the issue really.....

middle

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 08/02/2012 07:42

Peter Tatchell is going to discuss Pistey's home decorating choices?!

Hope you're recording this one Pistey.

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 08/02/2012 07:43

I think PT will be surprisingly traditional about his clock and plump for the middle as well.

One third in

PisteyIsABigFanOfMatthewWright · 08/02/2012 07:44

actually quite choked with emotion.

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 08/02/2012 07:50

Bad news though. I think they have dropped the topic in favour of some party the Queen is having.

"This morning: we?ll talk gay weddings in church with Peter Tatchell; hear what you think of parents drinking with their kids. Also, outrage over 13-year-olds getting contraceptive jabs behind their parents? backs - would you rather they got pregnant? And does anyone else think the line-up for The Queen?s diamond jubilee gig?s a tad dull? We'll find out on The Wright Stuff."

Sparklingbrook · 08/02/2012 07:54

Oh no. Sad

nickelhasababy · 08/02/2012 10:50

oooh, you did that on purpose after I'd left for the day! Shock

appalling Sad

If you want my help on the clock subject, you had better accept SFK. HmmShock
hmmm hhhhhmmmmm!

she's okay, thanks - sleeping at the moment (she falls asleep in the pram then sleeps till about 12 then wakes up wanting foooooooooooood Grin )

nickelhasababy · 08/02/2012 10:59

so the new acronym for this is CIM
the acronym CNIM does not work - it doesn't make a word, and it's not easy to type.

so

SFK
CIM

No clock here. But if I had one, which I won't because I've never seen a mantelpiece clock I've liked, it would not be in the middle.

I do not want to sit in a room that I relax in and be stared at by a sodding clock in prime position!
