.....to be upset and pissed off with DH's reaction over sexy dress up

So.....pre kids we were at it like rabbits, lots of role play, lots of dress up.

3 kids in 5 years later and it's all about poo and sleep habits.

I thought...we're staying in new year's eve so wht not make the most of it. I put all the kids to bed and came down for dinner in a school girl's outfit, fishnets and heels.....and he just laughed! I didn't feel sexy - just felt like an idiot.

We had a row over dinner about something else but no doubt triggered by how I felt about his reaction.

AIBU?

Good for you! And he is a Muppet.

And its not odd at all imo.

HandMini · 31/12/2011 21:28

Good on you for trying - you put me to shame, I am useless at taking the initiative. Go and jump your foolish husband and tell him how lucky he is.

homealone1 · 31/12/2011 21:29

DOG I have two.

What's the hell has that got to do with anything?

My son wants to be a pilot when he grows up - it doesnt stop me fantasising about men in uniform!

Off topic but I agree..why schoolgirl? Then again I think if you need to dress up to do it, you have problems...

Id be pissed off if he laughed at me..what did you say/he say when he laughed?

homealone1 · 31/12/2011 21:33

Happy New Year DOG Smile

Aw, YANBU, especially if you chose that same outfit for 'dressing up' BEFORE you had DC's.

He is a muppet.

homealone1 · 31/12/2011 21:36

I don't need to dress up to have sex..I was merely trying to inject some va va voom into a marriage with 3 young kids later and go back to how things used to be before kids when we were let's say....quite creative sexually

YANBU I'd feel the same, who likes to be laughed at when they are trying to be sexy. Maybe as it was unexpected and as you say, 3 kids in 5 years and its all about poo and sleep habits, then it's quiet a shock for you to suddenly get yourself all dressed up for him. Start off slow maybe?

I agree that the schoolgirl thing is pretty horrible. It may have been your choice of outfit Hmm

homealone1 · 31/12/2011 21:38

He's now asleep on the armchair.....Sad

WheresMeJumper · 31/12/2011 21:40

Well why dont you wake him up and talk to him? Its better than the two of you sulking and being silent for the night.. How bad was the fight ye had at dinner>?

Miette · 31/12/2011 21:41

Maybe have a talk with him about it and tell him it hurt your feelings to be laughed at. If your eldest child is 5 and a school child now, could he find it hard to think of school girls in that way now? Could you discuss trying a different sort of dress up? Ask him what he likes etc?

lookbutdonttouch · 31/12/2011 21:42

I don't need to dress up to have sex. But I do sometimes. It's fun, we have a great time and nothing odd in it at all.

Maybe the poster above was right and he just found it a little surprising. Start him off again slowly, he will catch up...

ElectricSoftParade · 31/12/2011 21:42

Homealone1 I am sorry as I know how hurtful this situation can be.

Just horrible and hurtful. So I hope you are now in more comfortable clothes and having a drink and watching/reading something to make you feel slightly better. ah fuck it, HUGS!

StickingPlaster · 31/12/2011 21:43

Your husband was wrong. If you still feel in the mood, wake him up with a blowjob.

wannaBe · 31/12/2011 21:43

agree school girl outfit is pretty tasteless.

A vast difference between fantasizing about (adult) men in uniform and fantasizing about school children.

I imagine maybe he laughed because he's grown out of that sort of thing by now.

DoMeDon · 31/12/2011 21:44

If DH came down as a schoolboy I would laugh then if I thought he was serious I would rage at him. The idea of a schoolchild as sexy is sixk. maybe he laughed as he felt uncomfortable. Maybe you should try something actually sexy rather than puke inducing.

homealone1 · 31/12/2011 21:44

It wasn't a major fight - just the usual theme of him being convinced he knew more about a topic ( despite it being my bag) than I did.

I am now in my lovely PJs ( he got me for christmas) and it's a darn sight warmer!

But why oh why can't we just sometimes feel we are still young free and single?

OP posts:
TongueTwister · 31/12/2011 21:45

That's rude, also think some other than school girl might have gone down better but i guess you know better than me.

TongueTwister · 31/12/2011 21:45

He probably just got a shock...In a nice way
