Breaking news: you'll look more dignified if you are a leggy model in a more flattering dress that if you are Ordinary and shop in H&M. Yeah, we knew that.

LEttletownofBOFlehem · 09/12/2011 17:30

It just all feels a bit "let's point and laugh at the fat slags". I don't like it at all.

spiderpig8 · 09/12/2011 17:32

half the girls doing the walk were the same size as the girl at the end.

It makes me feel very uncomfortable. I really don't like it.

deliciousdevilwoman · 09/12/2011 18:01

It's a little risque for such a "safe" brand-I like it.

Feminine · 09/12/2011 18:04

They should have used modes for the whole ad.

Or...none at all.

It was not to my liking...

Feminine · 09/12/2011 18:04

modes? models obviously!

That was hideous. And no, we haven't all been there.

Prolesworth · 09/12/2011 18:14

Why the hell would anyone like such a vile ad?

randommoment · 09/12/2011 18:16

The only difference between the last girl and all the rest is that she's walking with confidence. Everyone looks a bit silly if they're out in the morning in last night's outfit.

dislike it... why is there not a man doing the walk of shame...

Trills · 09/12/2011 18:18

If the last one had had a flattering smart coat to wear with her dress (and therefore actually looked less silly walking around in a party dress in the morning) then it would have worked much better as an ad for women's clothing.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 09/12/2011 18:18

Jesus, vile.

diddl · 09/12/2011 18:20

I think it´s awful.

So if you´re a model type in a horrible dress it´s OK to stay out all night, but otherwise not?

LEttletownofBOFlehem · 09/12/2011 18:20

I think there's a rather unpleasant class undertone in there too. The woman at the end looks considerably posher and richer than the others.

noblegiraffe · 09/12/2011 18:21

So what's the message? That the other outfits were shameful, not that they were walking home after a one night stand? And they were shameful because they were revealing?

I'm not sure I get it.

spiderpig8 · 09/12/2011 18:22

it's not necessarily one night stands, it's allnight parties.Have you straightlaced lot never come home from a party at 6 am??
It's supposed to be funny and it is -especially for such an upmarket brand.Jeez some people are so boring!

OP posts:
MincePieFlavouredVoidka · 09/12/2011 18:23

I dont like it.
I think its classist, sexist and fatist.
And watching it makes me feel very cold.

LEttletownofBOFlehem · 09/12/2011 18:25

Maybe this strait-laced lot Hmm don't enjoy adverts which set out to mock women who can't afford to shop at Harvey Nicholls?

suburbandream · 09/12/2011 18:25

Awful, and I just don't get it. So it's ok to stay out all night if you're a model wearing something from Harvey Nicks but shameful if you're a size 16 in Primark??

CoffeeBucks · 09/12/2011 18:26

It doesn't work IM(H)O - the outfit at the end is nowhere near as revealing as the others. The message is a bit judgey. Also agree that there's a bit of a class issue going on!
