AIBU to ask you all to boycott Muller products

My DH was driving on the M6 today with DCs (10,8,7) his lane became closed so he indicated and moved over in front of a Muller light truck. When the traffic began to move again said truck hit the back of him and pushed him 200m down the road, making my DCs have hysterics and all of them feeling extremely distressed. He has reported the truck to the police, DD took the number plate. My DCs are now asleep but very upset by the whole incident and I now wish to ask you all to boycott their products, even if only for a week. We will be emailing the company in the morning, there is only a few scratches to my car but it could have been far worse and DH says he is sure the driver knew there were DCs in the car. DH is [hangry]

I'm sorry they were all upset but why on earth would a boycott be in order?

worraliberty · 30/10/2011 23:35

Dear God where to start....

Ok I'm sorry to hear that happend, but boycotting Muller products because of it?

I don't know whether to laugh or cry Confused

Just let the Police deal with it and give your kids an extra cuddle.

MrBloomsNursery · 30/10/2011 23:36

Errm...sorry about what happened, but it's not Muller's fault is it? And I just bought two muller corner six packs from Tesco today (buy 1 get 1 free Wink) and will be eating them all week...yummmmyyyyy!!!

Hope you DC are okay, but I can't boycott muller!!

BertieBotts · 30/10/2011 23:37

Yes, YABU.

I'm sorry this has happened (it sounds like a horrible experience) but it's the driver who was at fault, not the company.

thenightsky · 30/10/2011 23:37

the driver was probably some subcontracted bloke and not employed directly by Muller.

IneedAbetterNickname · 30/10/2011 23:38

Hope evryone is ok,but I think I have reached my boycott limit sorry :)

FrankNCock · 30/10/2011 23:38

YABU. This is a traffic accident/incident with a truck, what it was carrying is irrelevant.

I'll happily boycot Muller but only because of their feckin annoying cartoon character ad. Your experience had nothing to do with Muller. Accidents happen - end of story.

whenIgetto3 · 30/10/2011 23:39

If you are driving a lorry marked with pictures of Muller lights is not making them responsible for your driving, you do work for them

squeakyfreakytoy · 30/10/2011 23:39

I can understand you being in shock at such an accident, and it is great that everyone was ok, but realistically, how can you ask people to boycott a company because of this???

worraliberty · 30/10/2011 23:40

Well that's the last time I visit Waitrose

moonferret · 30/10/2011 23:40

Is this for real? The company didn't encourage or incite this did they..it was an ACCIDENT. Your idea of when boycotts are justified is very corrupted.

squeakyfreakytoy · 30/10/2011 23:40

Sorry but I really cant understand your last post at all.

whenIgetto3 · 30/10/2011 23:40

Bluddy I will boycott Waitrose as they won't open their store where I live they keep delaying

squeakyfreakytoy · 30/10/2011 23:42

I just hope I never get involved in an accident with a Cadburys lorry...

I once saw a marmite lorry following a Warbutons lorry.

I've never eaten or purchased Muller products. So even though your request is insane, I'm in.

Whatmeworry · 30/10/2011 23:47

I think you should sue Muller in the hope they pay out in fruit corners.

Ambi · 30/10/2011 23:48

What if the distribution is outsourced? Perhaps you should really boycott Biglorry Freight or whoever the carriers were? An advert is not really to blame is it?

BertieBotts · 30/10/2011 23:48

It's not really a boycott if you can't shop there because they don't have a store near you!

yousankmybattleship · 30/10/2011 23:49

Maybe better to boycott lorries. Or roads.

Ambi · 30/10/2011 23:50

Having said that, I'm trying to be brand aware and avoid brand purchasing in future so I'll be kind of helping your cause.
