My DH was driving on the M6 today with DCs (10,8,7) his lane became closed so he indicated and moved over in front of a Muller light truck. When the traffic began to move again said truck hit the back of him and pushed him 200m down the road, making my DCs have hysterics and all of them feeling extremely distressed. He has reported the truck to the police, DD took the number plate. My DCs are now asleep but very upset by the whole incident and I now wish to ask you all to boycott their products, even if only for a week. We will be emailing the company in the morning, there is only a few scratches to my car but it could have been far worse and DH says he is sure the driver knew there were DCs in the car. DH is [hangry]

Well yes a real car would Scarah Grin

I like the idea of a Yeo Valley intern trying to make a name for himself very much. I also keep sniggering at the fact it was a Muller Light lorry. Love it's so specific.

ScarahStratton · 31/10/2011 13:18

Would it be worse to be hit by a Waitrose lorry with potatoes on the side? Would it weigh more than a Muller Light lorry?

loopylou6 · 31/10/2011 13:21

Dear me, the things that people make up, although I did piss myself at the porky pies comment Grin

gordyslovesheep · 31/10/2011 13:25

I was hit by a woman in a Chrysler Crossfire on the M56 on Friday with THREE small children in the car - and she was doing 50mph - we where not shunted BUT as I had more kids in the car, she was going faster AND it actually happend I win - and urge you ALL to boycot the product of my choice ...

I am opting for 'voting tory' - yes - you must ALL stop voting tory

sherbetpips · 31/10/2011 13:29

I thought you were going to say boycott them becuase of that flipping stupid advert - how much money did they spend on that! I can just imagine the agencies faces when they were given the go ahead to pay for the licences on all those cartoon character and then create a 2 minute long tv ad to be placed on all the major channels - KERCHING!

Bogeymanface · 31/10/2011 13:30

I wont be boycotting them as chances are the driver works for a central distribution depot so it would be pointless.

However in the interest of fairness....
2 years ago I was in my Clio and got hit by a lorry. It caught my back end and flipped the car around and we were being pushed, sideways on, around a very large (and very very high) dual carriageway intersection/roundabout. The police got lots of calls from other drivers, it was rush hour, and there were 5 calls to the ambulance service. The police expected us to be scraped off the dual carriage way below, but we were all fine. We were shaken and I did get a moderately bad case of whiplash from the initial hit, but the little ones slept through it all! You would expect the car to have been flattened, but it wasnt. Yes it was damaged, the drivers side door and front and back wings were bashed in, but the damage didnt reflect the accident at all. Even the police were shocked, the PC said that it looked like I had scraped it against a wall, not been hit by a massive articulated lorry!

Bogeymanface · 31/10/2011 13:31

Ah I now see it wasnt true anyway!

But mine was so I win.

Sassybeast · 31/10/2011 13:31

I don't even like yogurt but am tempted to buy Yeo valley because of their ads Grin

OP - you are telling porkie pies aren't you ? 200m on the M6 - yeah right....

Byeckersiambloodyscarylike · 31/10/2011 13:32

Ive got it...op doesn't work for Yeo Valley, she has the hots for the Yeo Valley Boy Band, you know, in between x factor... 'Yeo Valley naturaleeeee'

Her DH went out for a drive in a rage and cut up a Yeo Valley lorry because he believed the driver to be one of said boy band. He demanded the lorry driver pull over so he could take out his jealous rage on him (his fault for wooing op with his dulcet tones) there was a scuffle, the car boot was scratched. He decided if he admitted it, she would think it was sour grapes and so he made up the story about Muller Light?

DooinMeCleanin · 31/10/2011 13:35

Gordy I support your boycott of the Tories for, erm, why are we boyoctting the Tories again? Nay mind I support you anyway.

I'd also support a boycott on porky pies if it does indeed turn out to have been a porky pie truck as I am on a diet. Muller lights are very low fat and tasty, so I cannot boycott them, sorry. If it had been the full fat version I might have considered it.

BecauseImAWerewolefIt · 31/10/2011 13:35

Erm - if he could push your DH 200m at 20 mph, why didn't your DH just put his foot down and accelerate away?

None of this makes any sense at all.

thefirstMrsDeVeerie · 31/10/2011 13:37

This thread is making me a bit scared of driving on a big road and making me really fancy a muller corner with meringue bits in it. Yum.

readyforthehills · 31/10/2011 13:50

You'll have to wait a few days for my boycott as it was buy 1 get 2 free for us this weekend

BlathersFright · 31/10/2011 14:05

Can't boycott DH's favourite yogurts! I already force help him to support the Nestle boycott and adding Muller to the Shreddies he can't have would tip him over the edge!

I'll boycott toileT ROLLs for you though Op

limitedperiodonly · 31/10/2011 14:06

Is it yoghurt or lager we're supposed to boycott?

I already boycott lager because I hate the taste but I'm very partial to a fruit corner. Cherry, specifically.

yousankmybattleship · 31/10/2011 14:15

Chinny reckon OP.

SalopianGirl · 31/10/2011 14:46

The Muller factory is at the end of my road - who wants to be my friend?

Who is finding the idea of traumatised children amusing?

The story is unbelievable. Either the OP is playing Jackanory - or more likely her husband is.

Pagwatch · 31/10/2011 15:27

You lot are being really mean. Her Dh could have been hurt ! Angry

he could have sustained a serious injury

DooinMeCleanin · 31/10/2011 15:28

Grin @ Pag.

worraliberty · 31/10/2011 15:31

im glad you all find it amusing that the op's DC's were terrified by an idiot driver and the police are doing nothing about it

There's always one who totally misunderstands the contents of a thread isn't there?

Surprised it too this long really.....

IndieSkies · 31/10/2011 15:32

I am really really sorry your family had such a scary experience - very frightening.

But sorry, I don't think boycotting them is the right response, nor that any driver should take more or less care based on the age of passengers.

I hope they are recovering from the shock and that the insurance cover all your expense without causing you any hassle.

KatieMortician · 31/10/2011 15:33

OP, I think I might have seen your DH around. Does he look like this?
