My DH was driving on the M6 today with DCs (10,8,7) his lane became closed so he indicated and moved over in front of a Muller light truck. When the traffic began to move again said truck hit the back of him and pushed him 200m down the road, making my DCs have hysterics and all of them feeling extremely distressed. He has reported the truck to the police, DD took the number plate. My DCs are now asleep but very upset by the whole incident and I now wish to ask you all to boycott their products, even if only for a week. We will be emailing the company in the morning, there is only a few scratches to my car but it could have been far worse and DH says he is sure the driver knew there were DCs in the car. DH is [hangry]

I'm with dramatrauma.

will also boycott waitrose as we don't have one round here.

op, I hope you get proper compensation and proper help from the police.

squeakyfreakytoy · 30/10/2011 23:52

Actually.. I am reading this again, and trying to understand it, because I just cant...

If a lorry had shunted me 200m down a motorway, I would have expected more than a couple of scratches on the car...

HildaOgden · 30/10/2011 23:53

You've reported it to the police,I presume you will report it to Muller....why do you think a boycott of the entire company is in order??!

Seriously....the only companies that deserve boycotting are the ones with unethical policies. And I seriously doubt it's their policy to employ dickheadsbad drivers.

worraliberty · 30/10/2011 23:56

I dont actually shop in there myself anyway but you can park free in their carpark for an hour and a half in Brighton and I had to pop into Primark.

I trust you parked sideways taking up at least two P&C spaces if you want me to support your boycott?

GypsyMoth · 30/10/2011 23:59

Lol.... As if we would boycott muller over this??! Come on!!

The driver was at fault, not a yoghurt!!

CheeseyZitLover · 30/10/2011 23:59

Bugger orf, I love muller rices too much.

GypsyMoth · 30/10/2011 23:59

I though MN were boycotting primark too!

TalcAndTurnips · 31/10/2011 00:02

I always understood the word 'mullered' to mean 'thoroughly smashed-up'

This unfortunate incident seems to just confirm that. Maybe the driver called over his shoulder as he drove away, with a cheery wink and a wave: "You've been Mullered"

Hope your OH is ok, OP - must have been a bit scary.

So he shoved you 200m down the road and didn't stop?

Andrewofgg · 31/10/2011 00:36

Obviously they are as bad as Nestle . . . ffs,

sunnydelight · 31/10/2011 04:46

If the traffic had just started to move how on earth could the truck have shunted him 200m down the road, and how did the truck get around your DH if it was behind him and he stopped? Sorry, but your story makes no sense whatsoever and no, I'm not going to boycott Muller because you are pissed off with the guy who drives a truck distributing their products. Maybe we should have a "boycott" section on MN where we can all ask everyone to boycott companies who have pissed us off!

mousesma · 31/10/2011 04:51

Sorry your DH and children had such a scare but unless Muller have actually adopted a policy of having all their truck drivers shunt cars I can't support a boycott.

I was once tooted at by a quik save van, the only solution I could think of was to stage a dirty protest at their Skegness branch. Have you thought of that op?

RedHelenB · 31/10/2011 07:30

Are you saying the driver did this deliberately because your dh moved in front of him? I'm confused too!

Groovee · 31/10/2011 07:30

So if you reported it to the police and the children got his number plate... does this mean he didn't stop?

UterusUterusGhali · 31/10/2011 07:34

Geraldine-that made me laugh so loud I scared the DC.Grin

OP, I thought companies just bought the ad space on the side of the truck. I may be wrong though.

Really, s/he didn't stop?

Sirzy · 31/10/2011 07:36

The ops story makes no sense at all!

TandB · 31/10/2011 07:37

I will support a boycott of the M6.

Where does it go again?

rainbowinthesky · 31/10/2011 07:37

Do you understand the history of boycotts and their purpose? Your plea doesnt quite tick the boxes....

FlossieFromCrapstonVillas · 31/10/2011 07:39

Someone's already nicked my 'Mullered' joke - but what the Geoff are you on about, op?!

CurlyCasper · 31/10/2011 07:50

Seriously? You want to hurt all the families who work for Muller just because of one driver? Maybe we should all boycott your employer as an over reaction to your nonsensical demands? I'm sure you are upset, but for goodness sake, see the bigger picture! If you try to hurt a company, you hurt all of its employees too. Calm down and let the police do their job.

BOOareHaunting · 31/10/2011 07:52

I'm so sorry your DH and DC's went through this. But it's the driver (or even their companies fault) not Mullers.

MrBlooms BOGOF on the corners you say? The chocolate ones? DS LOVES them and has a UTI atm so is feeling crap - I may have to treat him to some.
