AIBU to ask you all to boycott Muller products

My DH was driving on the M6 today with DCs (10,8,7) his lane became closed so he indicated and moved over in front of a Muller light truck. When the traffic began to move again said truck hit the back of him and pushed him 200m down the road, making my DCs have hysterics and all of them feeling extremely distressed. He has reported the truck to the police, DD took the number plate. My DCs are now asleep but very upset by the whole incident and I now wish to ask you all to boycott their products, even if only for a week. We will be emailing the company in the morning, there is only a few scratches to my car but it could have been far worse and DH says he is sure the driver knew there were DCs in the car. DH is [hangry]

"but they have now said this morning that they did nothing about it as there was no damage to our car other than some scratches"

sounds like bollox to me!

onepieceofcremeegg · 31/10/2011 11:22

This thread is helping me (by distracting me from the housework)

However I have a problem; muller rices were buy 6 get 6 free at Waitrose last week. My fridge is full of them.

I haven't decided yet if I believe the op. If I do decide I do, and want to support her boycott, please could someone take the muller rices off my hands?

Only problem is, will have to be someone local; I can't risk taking them on a motorway; jolly dangerous places they are.

worraliberty · 31/10/2011 11:26

cremeegg Something tells me they'd have to prize them out of your dead fingers Grin

Whatmeworry · 31/10/2011 11:26

Perhaps they've brought out their own line of yogurts and want to crush the competition?

Shurley then you get your van behind the Muller one?

Poor execution....

onepieceofcremeegg · 31/10/2011 11:28

lol @ worraliberty.

Right, I'm am logging off now to go and eat two toffeeapple muller rices hoover.

whoneedssleepanyway · 31/10/2011 11:28

One more question OP - you say your DH reckons the driver knew there were DCs in the car, does it make a difference to whether this sort of driving is acceptable if there are DCs in the car....

My fave corner is the vanilla chocco balls one, I am not sure I could give those up.

ChooChooWowWow · 31/10/2011 11:32

So:

Your dh was on the M6 in a queue of traffic. Traffic had only just started moving but large lorry managed to shunt him 200m. Lorry driver didn't stop but police are taking no action.
Only minor scratches to your car.
No other cars involved (200m incident on the M6 Confused)

I hope your family are ok but that incident makes no sense to me at all.

ScarahStratton · 31/10/2011 11:33

Banana chocolate flakes for me too. I have a serious addiction.

I also think this thread has a distinct whiff about it.

Pagwatch · 31/10/2011 11:34

It is very odd isn't it.

ScarahStratton · 31/10/2011 11:34

And how can a car be shunted 200m in a queue of just been stationary traffic?

Pagwatch · 31/10/2011 11:35

Ask dh if it was definitely muller yogurts and not porky pies.

ScarahStratton · 31/10/2011 11:39
TheBrideofFrankenstein · 31/10/2011 11:45

I'm imagining a Muller lorry with a snow plough attached to the front, as it's the only way that a 200m shunt seems credible.

mrskeithlemon · 31/10/2011 11:45

I already boycott Muller after finding a used plaster in a yoghurt once

happydotcom · 31/10/2011 11:57

YABU.

I was squashed while driving a soft top by a local garden centre's lorry. He pulled into my lane and took my car under the lorry. I had to be cut out but wasn't seriouly hurt ( no other passengers in my car thankfully).

It was the driver's fault and I still bought my Xmas tree from the company!

< opens a nice Muller Rice and enjoys>

ShowOfHands · 31/10/2011 12:01

FIL was shunted about 100m by a lorry in a similar situation (and the car in front of him). His car was crumpled and he had to be cut out. Thankfully he was fine too happydotcom. V shaken up though and had anybody been in the back, it wouldn't have been so straightforward at all.

TandB · 31/10/2011 12:08

This incident only happened yesterday - the police have reached a decision pretty quickly!

KatieMortician · 31/10/2011 12:21

They're fast those imaginary police. Probably because they only have the one case to deal with.

Am I the only person wondering why pick on Muller? Seems so random.

ScarahStratton · 31/10/2011 12:21

All that was left for breakfast under the bridge ?

AFuckingKnackeredWoman · 31/10/2011 12:23

Muller Rice is amazing, i could never boycott it.(unless i found a plaster in one)

Dh swears blind he found a nipple in a corned beef can and wont have it the house[hhmm]

DooinMeCleanin · 31/10/2011 12:24

200m and no other cars were 'shunted' along with yours? That has got be to the most car-less traffic jam I've ever heard of.

I think the police have decided not to do anything because it was DH's fault, haven't they? Go on admit it. You'll feel better if you do Smile

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 31/10/2011 12:24

The OP is the former CEO of St Ivel.

Or an intern at Yeo Valley.

KatieMortician · 31/10/2011 12:25

I was hoping for an elaborate conspiracy theory where we find out OP actually works for Nestle marketing.

ShowOfHands · 31/10/2011 12:50

I don't think it's anything quite so interesting as a conspiracy. I think op's dh reversed into a bollard because he was too busy eyeing up Marge from marketing and hasn't the balls to admit it.

Did he mention racoons at all op?

ScarahStratton · 31/10/2011 13:06

Wouldn't a car that's been shunted 200m at 20mph be ever so slightly squashed?
