a drunk conversation on a girls night sparked the conversation of shaving down there.... i was very surprised to hear that out of 11 females only 3 still had hair down there.... Its not something i ever thought about before, and in the conversation i was 1 of the 3 that wasn't completely bare down there lol i am now the center of several hairy jokes, which doesn't bother me as they are quite funny... But anyway, as none of us no each other on here my question is are most people bare down there?

Not all off, I have a Brazilian wax every 4 weeks.

SlinkingOutsideInSocks · 26/10/2011 08:54

The only way it's more hygienic to get rid of it is if you don't clean yourself down there... Hmm Which makes you wonder about the sort of people who say it's more hygienic.

Clearly the hair is there for a reason, and the reason is to protect the area from germs and infection. If you keep yourself fresh, then clearly having a least some pubic hair (and not just at the front, where there's nothing to protect) is the most hygienic, healthy option.

To note - it's once these threads descend into the issue of hygiene that they lose the run of themselves, at least going by all the previous threads on the topic. [hwink]

All lasered off here. Bald as a coot - permanently. I LOVE it being all silky smooth all the time, I love not having to bother with waxing anymore, and being able to go swimming/get changed in front of someone without a second thought.

DH never minded when I used to have 'landing strip' waxes, or 'all off' waxes. However now it is always super smooth I think he does love it a little bit more.

It's a personal desicion and each to their own. I personally would not feel sexy if I was au natural. But others would feel mortified to be bare!

all off, should really gear myself up for waxing but i havent got the nerve, what if my downstairs looks weird???? lmao

AKissIsNotAContract · 26/10/2011 09:16

I think the hygiene thing relates more to anal hair.

noyouhavehadawee · 26/10/2011 09:23

Use DH's clippers - no.1 , nice and neat.

mumwithdice · 26/10/2011 09:26

I'm with Becaroo and Caitlin Moran.

aldiwhore · 26/10/2011 09:27

For me it depends on the weather and whether I can be bothered or not.

At present, hairy but tidy. My winter growth.

IdjustassoonkissaZombie · 26/10/2011 09:27

I've never seen any previous threads, so I'm finding this quite interesting. I had no idea that a lot of people are hairless down there now. I keep it short with scissors and a razor around the edges to keep it neat.

I too tried shaving the whole lot off when younger with baby oil and it looked awful. I'm not terribly hairy anyway as I'm fair. So perhaps if I had darker/ thicker hair I'd consider something else. As I'm single and divorced though it's all rather academic. If I met someone and they liked things a certain way perhaps I'd reconsider Grin Maybe....

KaFayOLay · 26/10/2011 09:29

I find the thought of a completely bare minge on a grown woman quite disturbing Shock.

KatAndKit · 26/10/2011 09:30

But it's all nice and soft and fluffy, why would I want to get rid of it and be bald? I think the nice soft hair feels nice. I don't think it would be nice and soft if I gave it a number one with clippers. I do trim with scissors as I really don't want to be able to plait it. And obviously I remove anything that goes over the crease and into the upper thigh region when I am shaving my legs.
I wash my bum when it is dirty and moist toilet tissue has been invented too so I am not that fussed about "anal hair" either.

Fifis25StottieCakes · 26/10/2011 09:36

Ive got a huge bush. No one sees it so its left to its own devices. If there was a chance it was going to be seen i would probably get the wax strips out. I wouldn't go to bald just tidied up a bit.

Baldy fairys look a bit weird imo

TalcAndTurnips · 26/10/2011 09:40

I've had the whole lot laid to concrete, with a few ornamental tubs and hanging baskets. There is also some subtle mood lighting that comes on after dark.

Just needs a good going-over with the Kärcher pressure washer now and again to keep things clean and tidy.

Angel786 · 26/10/2011 09:41

Epilate / bikini wax a Brazilian but not all off. Tried all off before but was a bit weird.

ChairOfTheBored · 26/10/2011 09:42

I am in my 30s, and I 'tidy', much like others a bit of light trimming, and defending the borders, such that it stays where it should.

I like to think that at least one part of my body is bikini ready (it makes up for the pale wobbly nature of the rest of me!)

BertieBotts · 26/10/2011 09:45

I'm 23. Don't shave/wax/trim. Fighting my corner for the young person's space!

No man has ever fainted or been horrified. Give them some credit! The only one who objected was a tosser.

IwoulddoPachacuti · 26/10/2011 09:46

I'm all off at the moment. It just feels neater that way to me

Landing strip on the front and nothing underneath, but am 37 weeks pg so it is getting hard to do as I can't see, so it could look pretty comical and uneven down there at the moment. Might get it done by a professional before the baby is due. Don't want the midwives thinking I have no standards :)

Abcinthia · 26/10/2011 09:51

I'm 21 and I have hair. I'll give it a trim but I don't get rid of it all.

slavetofilofax · 26/10/2011 09:53

I get brazillian waxes. I had a hollywood a few weeks ago just to see what it would feel like and it was wierd! I didn't like it at all, it just seemed odd. There are places where regrowth is Not A Nice Thing.

KatAndKit · 26/10/2011 09:53

Why do you think midwives will be judging you on your pubes?

aldiwhore · 26/10/2011 09:55

I have to admit to going bald ocassionally. That seems to be my own routine if I think about it... I don't like the look of myself bald that's for sure! But it feels nice, regrows, gets trimmed and then because I'm terrified of cutting myself with a razor (world's most clumsy person) I VEET the lot. I have tried 'target' veeting but usually its just easier to whap it on and have done!

I don't think I COULD stay just one way all the time???! Though if I had to choose it would probably be as it is now, tidy.
