To expect dh not to eat the Peshwari Nan? Warning - ranty and trivial.

We had an Indian takeaway tonight which is a big treat in our family.

We ordered 2 nan breads because dh doesn't like Peshwari Nan and the rest of us don't like Garlic Nan.

Dh also gets a meat curry and me, dd and ds share a veggie one.

Dh gets a rice to himself and I share a rice with the 2 dcs.

So, to recap, dh gets a whole curry, whole rice and whole garlic nan to himself while I share all of my food with the dcs.

Am I being unreasonable to complain when he eats the peshwari nan, meaning I got none and ds only got one small piece, when there is garlic nan sitting there uneaten?

When I commented - in a calm tone - about him having a whole nan and that I now had none his comment was, "Oh, here we go!"

I know it is trivial and hardly life changing Grin but am I being unreasonable to be a bit annoyed with him and his selfish currying ways.

If it is relevant it was me who drove the 16 mile round trip to get the curry and me who paid for it too Angry

yanbu - divorce him.

UrsulaBuffayTheVampireSlayer · 16/10/2011 19:01

LEAVE THE BASTARD

Lifeissweet · 16/10/2011 19:02

Why did you sit there and let him eat it? Could you not have intervened?

He is the one in the wrong (and I would be annoyed too)

picnicbasketcase · 16/10/2011 19:02

YANBU. Greedy and selfish.

I read your thread title as 'randy and trivial' and wondered what you'd be doing with the bread.

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 16/10/2011 19:02

well why did he eat it if he doesn't like it?
And if there isn't enough, why don;t you order more

GypsyMoth · 16/10/2011 19:02

Why didn't you order extra for the dc's?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/10/2011 19:03

YANBU - he's being greedy.

Dp is a carnivore and the dds and I are veggie. When we have an Indian takeaway we order:

One veggie biriyani
2 other veggie curries
1 pilau rice
1 naan bread and 1 paratha
4 onion bhajis

All of the above are for all 4 of us to share.

Dp then gets a starter portion of tandoori fish or tandoori chicken for himself.

You are perfectly within your right to be cross with the greedy, currying beast! :)

Lifeissweet · 16/10/2011 19:03

Grin at 'Randy and trivial'. I think that describes my DP to a tee most evenings.

squeakytoy · 16/10/2011 19:04

Why not order more food then there is plenty to go round? Confused

ScarahStratton · 16/10/2011 19:05

I'd kill anyone who got between me and my peshwari naan. Greedy fucker, he should go and get you another one.

TadlowDogIncident · 16/10/2011 19:05

YANBU, and it would be reasonable to leave him obviously, but I also agree with squeakytoy: leftover Indian takeaway is usually good next day.

TheOriginalFAB · 16/10/2011 19:05

What does he mean by "Here we go"? Sounds like you have had this conversation before..

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 16/10/2011 19:06

is peshwari the one with meat or the cocont weirdy one?
Our lcoal does a garlic and chilli one - yum

MysteriousHamster · 16/10/2011 19:07

You need to order more food in the first place and then stop him stealing your naan!

BleachedWhale · 16/10/2011 19:07

One veg curry, one rice and one Nan is not enough for one adult and 2 childen in the first place! And hardly enough food to be worth anyone driving 16 miles for.

But in the midst of this madness, he was totally unreasonable.

backwardpossom · 16/10/2011 19:07

Why did he eat the peshwari naan if he doesn't like it? [hconfused]

ScarahStratton · 16/10/2011 19:08

Peshwari is the gorgeous sweet, coconutty one. It is not weird.

diddl · 16/10/2011 19:11

Well the fact that you share with the children is up to you-you could order for them I guess.

But why did he eat a whole bread that he doesn´t like leaving you with one that you don´t like.

That´s selfish, greedy & odd.(IMO)

AnnoyingOrange · 16/10/2011 19:11

yeah wot SPBB said

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 16/10/2011 19:12

urgh it's weird
nan bread is lovely without any coconutty weirdness

Trills · 16/10/2011 19:12

What were you doing that he managed to eat a whole naan that was supposedly for you without your noticing?

backwardpossom · 16/10/2011 19:13

I love Peshwari nan and would have been most miffed.

diddl · 16/10/2011 19:14

And also what Trills said.

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 16/10/2011 19:14

Maybe the nans were bitesized?
