To expect dh not to eat the Peshwari Nan? Warning - ranty and trivial.

We had an Indian takeaway tonight which is a big treat in our family.

We ordered 2 nan breads because dh doesn't like Peshwari Nan and the rest of us don't like Garlic Nan.

Dh also gets a meat curry and me, dd and ds share a veggie one.

Dh gets a rice to himself and I share a rice with the 2 dcs.

So, to recap, dh gets a whole curry, whole rice and whole garlic nan to himself while I share all of my food with the dcs.

Am I being unreasonable to complain when he eats the peshwari nan, meaning I got none and ds only got one small piece, when there is garlic nan sitting there uneaten?

When I commented - in a calm tone - about him having a whole nan and that I now had none his comment was, "Oh, here we go!"

I know it is trivial and hardly life changing Grin but am I being unreasonable to be a bit annoyed with him and his selfish currying ways.

If it is relevant it was me who drove the 16 mile round trip to get the curry and me who paid for it too Angry

I hope so too Ninja.

noonesgoing Grin

I abhor the "everyone share" school of Asian dining.

If I order something, it's because I like it and want to eat it.

I have been known to order a vindaloo at the IL's to stop them chowing my dinner.Angry

soandsosmummy · 13/01/2012 16:02

yanbu - that was not just any nan it was a peshwari nan

(DP would never do such a criminal thing he hates coconut)

rookiemater · 13/01/2012 16:12

YABU to like Peshwari nan. It's like eating dessicated coconut sandwiches.

mrsjay · 13/01/2012 16:43

minimisschief · 14/01/2012 00:08

he stole your nan yanbu. but the rest of your post is irrelevant. if you do not want to share with kids get more food. sounds like you just added it to make out your dh is an asshole

ComposHat · 14/01/2012 01:48

A 16 mile round trip and it is the thick end of £30 notes for what is essentially two takeaway meals?

Hardly seems like a treat to me. More like a ball-ache and a rip off.

PinkFondantFancy · 14/01/2012 06:18

Ok it's 6am and I desperately need a peshwari naan now. Thanks very much. Angry

FWIW I'd be fuming that he had his own food yet ate mine that by his own admission doesn't like very much.... YANBU

PinkFondantFancy · 14/01/2012 06:20

Actually good point composHat - £30 for 2 curries, 2 rice 2 naan??????

ComposHat · 14/01/2012 18:13

Pink I would say £30 isn't cheap for a sit down Indian meal for two.

OP needs to find a cheaper takeaway and buy some more food.

OP probably hasn't realised that her 2 1/2 month old thread has been (accidently) bumped!
