oh for christs sake

how do you know it was largely a male audience??

and encouraging people to laugh at others is what humour is all about

all this " A woman building her career by encouraging a largely male audience to laugh at other women is something that makes me a bit sad."

is ridiculous nonsense

ssd · 14/10/2011 11:28

scary, step back from the boden jacket, he'll be scarred for life

Dotty342kids · 14/10/2011 11:30

Liked it! Very funny, I know I'd have been laughing away had I been sat at that gig.....................

:o

cantspel · 14/10/2011 11:33

I have just watch an itv4 clip of mary also on youtube.

She does have some funny stuff

Curiousmama · 14/10/2011 11:34

Headless I know men get comedy just the fact that they seemed to be laughing before the gag ended? Dp and I often go to comedy clubs/nights etc.. this laughter just seemed off somehow? Although could be to do with sync? Anyway her other stuff was much funnier and would like to see her live.

Teetik · 14/10/2011 11:34

I LOVED IT! You really made me laugh. I'll come to the next show you do locally, promise.

LaVitaBellissima · 14/10/2011 11:35

I laughed too [hgrin]

TheScaryJessie · 14/10/2011 11:35

But so warm... And padded. Did I say it was warm? Because it was. Warm, I mean.

You know, I can't wait for the next Rastamouse thread now. Imma gonna link.

bibbitybobbityhat · 14/10/2011 11:37

Who are these knob-ends saying op isn't a comedienne? Ffs!

pumpkinsmash · 14/10/2011 11:38

worked for me Grin

Hassled · 14/10/2011 11:38

I really liked that :o

pigletmania · 14/10/2011 11:39

God some people on here are miserable farts.

bibbitybobbityhat · 14/10/2011 11:41

V funny btw, but I do loathe the worlds bitch/bitches. I think you could find something funnier than that.

DontCallMeFrothyDragon · 14/10/2011 11:41
Grin

I liked it. Am I beeeeing unreasonable?

confusedpixie · 14/10/2011 11:41

It'd be funnier if it was the first time I'd heard something like it, but it's very unoriginal, it's just as if you've read an article in the Daily Fail Wink

As others have said, you could have thrown in a few more MN cliches like IL-bashing, biscuits and some PFB bits which always seem to get overlooked!

bibbitybobbityhat · 14/10/2011 11:41

words, not worlds, obv!

confusedpixie · 14/10/2011 11:42

Though the rastamouse bit was brilliant Grin

IslaValargeone · 14/10/2011 11:43

Loved the bit about the tapas.

Fennel · 14/10/2011 11:43

I quite liked it but I think it would be better if you could appeal to the women, and particularly mothers. The sound of male laughter grates rather. Better if the routine is pitched towards mothers so we are laughing at ourselves, not men laughing at silly mothers, which is the impression that laugher gives.

also agree with the others, "comedienne" is naff.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 14/10/2011 11:44

I agree with karmabeliever - it was lazy, at best. Simply sticking to the most obvious stereotypes, when there is so much more to mumsnet.

I really wanted to like this - sharp, witty, observational humour is my favourite, and that's what I was hoping for from this comedy routine, but it was a total let-down.

C- for effort and C for attainment, Mary. Could do better.

ArtVandelay · 14/10/2011 11:47

It didn't make me PMSL, more smiling and a chuckle - I like that type of amusement! YANBU.

The nanny bit was spot on - there was actually a thread somewhere where someone asked if it was okay to ask their nanny to sleep in the living room because they didn't have a room for her. Some posters thought that was fine because she was from the Philippines and was used to poor conditions Shock

Keep reading - you could get miles more good matierial and from different sections of the site.

pumpkinsmash · 14/10/2011 11:49

I had a little look at some of your other stuff. You're very funny
