I love this forum so much , I wrote an entire routine about it . Would you like to see / hear it ?

OP posts:
ChooChooWowWow · 14/10/2011 11:51

That is funny.

Loved the ranty bit at the end. Grin

lechildrenofthecornsilk · 14/10/2011 11:52

I liked it.

Mardymwahhaha · 14/10/2011 11:55

It made me smile, but not laugh out loud at all. But a nice satire

OK so what was the list?

4 wheel drive - yes
Waitrose - yes and worship on the alter of Ocado
Boden - yes
Pinot Grigio - in large quantities
Tumble tots - no but did Jo Jingles
Yoga - no
Nigel Slater - adore him
Farrow and Ball - no prefer Fired Earth
Andalucia with a lisp - yes but I speak fluent Spanish
Thin lipped - no
Nanny bullying - don't have one
Joanna Trollope - don't read her
Cath Kidston - too twee
Blonde bob - no
Annoying - yes probably
Condescending - I hope not
Bankers bonus comments - never made any on here

That makes me 8/17. Do I need to start fortifying the front garden come the revolution?

rycooler · 14/10/2011 11:55

Brilliant! Grin

LadyEvilEyes · 14/10/2011 11:59

I thought it was quite funny.
Are you a regular MNetter OP?
Love, love love the Irish accent.

RnB · 14/10/2011 12:01

I found this really funny! Well done Smile

fedupofnamechanging · 14/10/2011 12:03

I'd like to see some stuff on the obsession with parent and child parking spaces, buggies on buses, the disdain shown for 'twigs and pebbly shit' and how, when someone writes a long and heartfelt opening post, desperate for advice, some wally will bitch that it's not in proper paragraphs. There is also plenty of mileage to be had from mil/sil/child free weddings etc. Agree with the poster earlier who talked about the competitive poverty that exists here. I think these things sum up MNers more than the nanny thing.

rycooler · 14/10/2011 12:03

What names to you post under on here? - tell me - please please please

fiorentina · 14/10/2011 12:04

Spot on! Well done.

ripstheirthroatoutliveupstairs · 14/10/2011 12:05

I didn't think it was terribly funny.
Looking on the bright side, I know to avoid you if you ever come to Parr Hall.

Hullygully · 14/10/2011 12:05

Out of the whole of MN there are probably four people like that - great that you've bought into the dull old cliche of the Smug Mum. How original, cutting edge and clever!

Cheap laughs. Sexist crap. Predictable. Sell-out.

Well done you! Why don't you go out and kick a few women while you're at it? All the menz will clap you.

Still there.

That crap annoyed me.

MamaMary · 14/10/2011 12:10

Agree with Hullygully: I also think it's a pity that you've simply borrowed the cliches of Smug Mum. It's not at all representative of MN, as you very well know, but you also know it'll get a laugh. Quite a cheap laugh for you, and fairly sexist into the bargain.

worraliberty · 14/10/2011 12:10

Fucking hell some people wouldn't know humour if they were bent over and rammed straight up the arse with it Grin

I'll never understand why some people have to analyse everything instead of just having a good old giggle.

The world wont come to a standstill if we crack a smile now and then at things!

Hullygully · 14/10/2011 12:13

That doesn't make sense worra. You mean you found it funny and anyone who didn't is wrong. Er, right.

LeBOOOf · 14/10/2011 12:13

I liked it- but I think almost everyone on mumsnet hates the stuff you are lampooning too. And I agree with the poster who mentioned that there is lots of stuff to go for which isn't all that stereotyped: you could have gone on to talk about the filth, for a start (and maybe said that there aren't that many who would be dead come the Revolution really).

caramelwaffle · 14/10/2011 12:14

I'm not commenting on the OP, however, this is comedy Gold (or praps' silver)

prettyfly1 · 14/10/2011 12:16

I think it was moderately funny so well done - I love, love, LOVE stand up and would love to discover testes large (or drugs strong) enough to enable me to get up and do it so I liked your show. HOWEVER. If you loved mumsnet that much you would know that pandering to the sexism of men was taking a bit of an easy shot really - what about the Pom Bears - will noone talk of the Pom bears? Now THAT would have been funny!!!!

caramelwaffle · 14/10/2011 12:17

Sodding italics not working!

worraliberty · 14/10/2011 12:17

No Hully it doesn't make them wrong.

We all find different things funny..that's fair enough but it's the over analysis and taking things far too seriously that seems to have become a modern day thing.

Some people have let being politically correct kill their sense of humour and imo that's a shame.

JodieHarsh · 14/10/2011 12:18

Well I thought it was funny.

And that some of the responses are downright HILAIR Grin

Hullygully · 14/10/2011 12:19

still doesn't make sense worra.

You may see it as over-analysis and pc Gorn Mad, but that doesn't make it so. Just your opinion.

FlossieFromCrapstonVillas · 14/10/2011 12:21

I thought it was quite tatifilarious.

There are lots of MNetters who can piss themselves laughing at stuff on here that leaves me cold, horses for courses. You're funny!

rettam · 14/10/2011 12:21

Sorry but I thought that was totally not funny in the least. You say you love MN op so why take the piss out of it then ?

The real comedians are mnetters, have a look at 'classic' op, that's where the true comedy is.
