Men are missing a trick by dressing SO BADLY

Overheard two American women on the bus discussing British male fashion.
Their inclination was that jogging bottoms should be burned and I agree.

Got me thinking that loads f women positively fantasise about certain kinds of male outfits: uniforms, britches, good boots, etc.
I'm not suggesting that men go out and get an officer's uniform and it's obviously not ok to suggest that men should dress "for" women, but what most men wear and what women like to see men wearing are totally different, would you agree?

AIBU to think men's fashion needs a bit of an overhaul anyway?

A man in Kangol sweatpants and a hoody got on the bus today. He gave me an truly evil look, just pure hatred. He was reading my mind.

I think that all men should be made to go around dressed like Richard Armitage as Guy Of Gisborne.

Is it hot in here or is it me? Blush

Honestly though, DH would look rather daft in leather trousers and with long hair. It just isn't his style (and his hair would be more Ralph Malph than GoG if he grew it Grin), he does have a nice leather jacket though. But I think more formal clothes suit him best, he's a bit of a Dandy Dan who buys expensive suits in the sale. I love him wearing really smart pinstripe suits, and also his 'smart casual' work clothes on a Friday, with a whiff of Molton Brown. Yum.

Don't worry claw3. I don't get it out that often in case it scares people.

Claw3 · 12/09/2011 19:45

Tiggy didnt scare me at all, i was just trying to pull your leg about the boa.

TiggyD · 12/09/2011 20:04

Boas are cool. Everybody should have at least one boa.

Claw3 · 12/09/2011 20:23

I will have to try and find a picture of me in my Uggs to put up, so you can pull my leg Grin

I have two boas! they both lie across the top of a chest of drawers mirror in the bedroom. I have been hoping for a little boa to come along..but nothing yet.....

Claw3 · 12/09/2011 20:41

If you do manage little boas and need to rehome, i am boaless. I quite fancy one of those burlesque feather fans, maybe not with the Ugg boots!

DH wears a tricorne and doffed it to me when we first met. He also wears waistcoats and an RAF greatcoat in winter. So I think he dresses well.

DrCoconut · 13/09/2011 14:40

We're hitorical re enactors. DH has a full Georgian outfit as do I. Love it. People look a bit strange when I say I'm making DS2 a party frock for our Christmas do though Grin
