AIBU?

7yo dd was told at swimming pool to wear the top part of her bikini

I sent the kids to a holiday club today where they have a pool. They were wearing the bottom part of a bikini and the 7yo (very skinny as well) was told to wear the top part of her bikini tomorrow. I think that's just weird and I'm feeling a bit upset about it. AIBU?

I think that a Bikini is a bit more of an older persons swimwear if I am honest

I remember having a blue one as a kid, and bloody well hated it, and wished my mother had brought me a swimming suit like everyone else - but when you are a kid, you get what your parents want you to have

Well it’s not really a bikini if you’re just wearing the bottom half?

Not sure why you wouldn’t just put the whole set on her?

How do people even come across 8yo threads like this in order to bump them? Confused I can understand it if it's a niche health issue or something and you want to tap into collective wisdom, and bump the thread for more advice, but cases like this are just baffling.

What Quim said. It makes me wonder what on earth the people were googling to make such an old thread come up.

It's all annoying too as people dont seem to realise they're replying to an OP who possibly hasn't been on here for years.

I think a bikini for a 7 year old is fine. I also think she should wear the top half.

Bikini on a 7 year old .why
Why would you only give her half of the bikini ..good job you gave her the pants bit ,would you of still let her go in the pool in just the top part and no knickers

@BrookeVapes why did you resuscitate a 8 yr old zombie thread, and how do you actually do it??!

Just pointing out that this is a zombie thread (it was started in 2011!) which has been dragged back into Active Conversations by a troll poster. We're going to suspend posting on it for a while so it fades back where it belongs... Smile
