(original smug thread was in AIBU so this seemed like the right place for it)

For those who don't remember, [[http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/762767-The-SMUG-thread-An-amnesty-if-you-will-Come-and here it , the SMUG AmnESTY IN ALL ITS GLORY}}

So, two years on are you still smug about the same things? Have your good eaters turned fussy? Are your home-ground spices still beautifully arranged in jars? Have your children still never had a filling?

Everyone says that being smug is a magnet for karma to come and bite you on the arse, but has it?

I feel loads better now. I have huge stretch marks and had an extended whatever it is called stitched up because I was really skinny and had the world's tightest vagina.

LadyOfTheManor · 22/05/2011 23:03

Grin Beer!

I am smug that I had one child without any stitches or tears. I gave birth in the ambulance (rather fast home birth with a rather inexp. midwife) and remember saying;
"Have I torn? I used the perineum gel but I have no idea where my perineum is so I just aimed for the general area..."

TrillianAstra · 22/05/2011 23:03

It's not as if stretchmarks are ugly, I think they're quite interesting. Mine are silver.

Awww fuck...I'm really upset now

FellatioNelson · 22/05/2011 23:04

Casey you are getting tiresome now. Hmm and I'm 45 since you asked. The reference to cool kids was because you compared us to a bunch of playground bullies. It was just an analogy ok?

Fucking hell this is like the first Smug thread all over again. Is someone playing a joke?

LadyOfTheManor · 22/05/2011 23:04

Yes Trills, mine (all 3) are silvery/white. I stand in the mirror and shimmy and the light catches them beautifully.

LadyOfTheManor · 22/05/2011 23:05

Like a disco ball.

Casey76 · 22/05/2011 23:05

45 and still like a playground bully...tut tut tut

OvO · 22/05/2011 23:05

I'm smug today as I got up at 2 pm then back to bed at 6 pm.

It's a hard life.Grin

FellatioNelson · 22/05/2011 23:06

OK, I know when I'm being wound up....bye.

coocoocachoo · 22/05/2011 23:06

Fellatio how did you get a baggy fanny before giving birth? How do I know if I also have one? DH has never complained but then we've never had to use help either.

I didnt (I hope) it was a joke!

Come on people, get with the programme. Too much taking seriously of light hearted comments on here!!!

LadyOfTheManor · 22/05/2011 23:07

We must look like fish in the sea, when the light catches us and makes us shimmery.

Shall try and have a look when I go swimming this week-and try not to look a bit like a weird pervert.

LadyOfTheManor · 22/05/2011 23:08

ha ha ha Grin Fellatio. You may always be remembered as the one with "baggy" fanny.

LRDTheFeministDragon · 22/05/2011 23:09

Ooh, crap, I managed to click hide on this and didn't notice ...

EiM, (may I do that? I abbreviate because I can't spell), I have indeed wasted a great deal of time on here, but have managed to do it over a relatively short real-life period. I wasn't around for the old thread but it's a good 'un.

I am dead smug about my stretchmarks. I have the down the sides of my tummy and on my boobs and I like to think they make me look brave and unconcerned about other people's judgy attitudes towards my body.

This of course is bollocks ... I've actually come to the conclusion that stretchmarks just aren't very ugly so it doesn't bespeak great depths that I don't mind mine.

My other stretch marks don't bother me (the puberty ones) but I remember how long it took them to go from angry red to silvery (an age when you're an awkward shy 13 year old) just hoping not too add to the collection.

coocoocachoo · 22/05/2011 23:19

to - yes I spotted it (just in case Casey's still around)

LRDTheFeministDragon · 22/05/2011 23:20

I'll make a note to have a look next time I'm in the sea (which ... since it is appropriate for this thread ... I am also smug about, as I've not been on holiday for a few years and never with DH, and we're finally going to have a weekend by the sea in Cornwall. Smile)

Hmm. I reckon this thread is bad for me, I can see my way to being smug about bloody everything! Grin

LRDTheFeministDragon · 22/05/2011 23:21

coo - lavender oil is meant to be good, it certainly helps them feel better.

coocoocachoo · 22/05/2011 23:25

Will bear the lavender oil in mind...also saving up for some bio-oil just in case

bucaneve · 22/05/2011 23:30

I am smug because I have no stretch marks.

I do however have some rather fetching scars, one is red and angry looking.

LRDTheFeministDragon · 22/05/2011 23:30

Awww, I just got to the end of the old thread where Sycamore and BOF say happy birthday! How sweet, it's like a little happy ending. Grin

Now, how the fuck did they do that? They didn't seriously keep a link open for six days on their computers did they? Confused
