So, two years on are you still smug about the same things? Have your good eaters turned fussy? Are your home-ground spices still beautifully arranged in jars? Have your children still never had a filling?

Everyone says that being smug is a magnet for karma to come and bite you on the arse, but has it?

I've just realised I know the script for The Little Mermaid word for word.
I'm always being complimented on DS's manners.
I have possibly the most gorgeous DS ever.

Can I be smug too, please? I'm smug because so many people have thought about me on my birthday today, and left lovely messages, albeit on FB. It makes me feel quite popular

I am smug about:

having an amazing DH who is very kind and caring, highly intelligent, a great father, very handsome, an amazing cook - and I've managed to hold on to him for 13 years

having two funny, adorable, beautiful girls who were very easy to conceive, and managing to breastfeed both girls with absolutely no problems

having a nice, well paid job although I have never worked hard in my life and didn't bother to finish uni

having always managed to live in nice areas of London (and Helsinki) despite not being loaded

not having to put my girls into childcare until the youngest is 2.2 years old

being into "high culture"

not owning a TV

being happy with my life (when so many people are miserable for no obvious reason)

What is 'high culture'?

You do know that Facebook tells people that it is your birthday, right? They probably didn't all log on especially to say Happy Birthday.
