(original smug thread was in AIBU so this seemed like the right place for it)

For those who don't remember, [[http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/762767-The-SMUG-thread-An-amnesty-if-you-will-Come-and here it , the SMUG AmnESTY IN ALL ITS GLORY}}

So, two years on are you still smug about the same things? Have your good eaters turned fussy? Are your home-ground spices still beautifully arranged in jars? Have your children still never had a filling?

Everyone says that being smug is a magnet for karma to come and bite you on the arse, but has it?

Can I interrupt the bun fight to say I am smug because I'm now 34+5 weeks pregnant and don't have a single stretch mark...even though my mum had loads...I'm aware I still have a little way to go and things may change, but for the moment I'm as smug as can be about my lovely smooth pregnant podge.

MillyR · 22/05/2011 22:48

Have you looked at the underneath of the bump with a mirror?

Yes...I will admit to a bit of extra downy hair that makes my tummy look like a fluffy egg ....but not a single stretch mark in sight.....

LadyOfTheManor · 22/05/2011 22:52

Oi, keep my tongue out of this!

I had not a one stretch mark until I was 6 days late, then 3 little sneakies crept in over my appendix scar. Thankfully they've faded into non existence....then I foolishly got pregnant again.

FellatioNelson · 22/05/2011 22:53

ooh, thanks for that linky Trill I see I am mentioned as someone's best ever MNer EVER thread within the first three posts. [Smuggy McSmugface]

Well, you are entitled to be smug then. I was super smug about not having any stretch marks because it never occurred to me to look at the underside of the bump. When the bump descended, the full extent of the horror was revealed.

Casey76 · 22/05/2011 22:54

Sorry maybe my post made it look like I want to be in a clique when actually nothing could be further from the truth...I was just commenting on the fact that some of the users on here are smug because they are in a clique....obviously it's just the same as playground bullying and most people like that are too insecure to have their own opinions without some one else backing them up....thankfully I left school a long time ago and have never felt the need to have anyone back me up...but each to their own...I understand that alot of really sad twats use these forums and thats fine...if it makes them feel important then great let them carry on...

FellatioNelson · 22/05/2011 22:54

Sorry that was garbled crap but you know what I meant. And you've got to admit it was beautifully spelt.

LadyOfTheManor · 22/05/2011 22:54

I have no idea what you're droning on about. Please refrain from using "..." when you mean "," and occasionally ".".

That is all.

coocoocachoo · 22/05/2011 22:55

Oh no need to be Envy BeerTricks, I have historic ones in other places that no amount of cocoabutter is going to help (I'm not a skinny lady) but I don't have any new pregnancy related ones ....more surprised than smug, but still a bit smug.

TrillianAstra · 22/05/2011 22:56

I have stretchmarks and I've never even been pregnant. On my hips and bum and thighs mostly (puberty = sudden growth). DP has some on his knees from growth spurts as a teenager. We're probably going to produce a tiger if we ever do have kids.

FellatioNelson · 22/05/2011 22:56

Bullying is only bullying if you deliberately seek someone out in order to be nasty to them for your own pleasure. Felling ignored and left out because you are not one of the cool kids may be awful and painful and sad, but it is not bullying.

bibbitybobbityhat · 22/05/2011 22:57

Ooooo Coocoo.

Tsk tsk

I got my first stretch marks at about 38 weeks. They were bright red and scary and itchy. I said to the mw, have I been bitten by something under there? She looked at me in a pitying manner.

I am glad that the purpose of my life - to serve as a warning to others, is being fulfilled again.

not one of the cool kids....hahahahahahahah how old are you?????

LadyOfTheManor · 22/05/2011 22:59

Bibbity-Grin "no dear, they're stretch marks".

I asked my dh if I had any, and he said "no". I checked with a mirror I used to shave my bits with and said "LIAR!" (pointing to the only one that was about 2cm long.

I don't trust him when it comes to things like that now. He's let himself down.

Casey76 · 22/05/2011 22:59

Yes BeerTricksPotter....it will probably be around this time next month...will that suit you?

FellatioNelson · 22/05/2011 22:59

I am smug because I have had three babies but only one lot of stitches and no stretch marks. But that might just be because I started off quite fat with an enormous baggy fanny.
