Some of it is, some of it isn't. But generally speaking, since you tend to get what you pay for... YANBU :)

abbierhodes · 13/04/2011 22:31

Twat Hmm

YouaretooniceNOT · 13/04/2011 22:32

YABU. And boring. Eat what you want. Shop where you want. Just don't start yet another boring thread about it.

bibbitybobbityhat · 13/04/2011 22:33

I think it is ok.

HalfTermHero · 13/04/2011 22:34

YANBU but the confectionery is actually really nice. The rest I can leave.

fedupalready · 13/04/2011 22:35

I like their bin liners

Maelstrom · 13/04/2011 22:35

I tend to think of them as "save in 2-3 products, then spent money saved and far more time going through a proper supermarket where you can get everything you need in one go"

BTW all their olives, sundried tomatoes, etc I find discusting, they are cheap but they come in cooking oil instead of olive oil.

AimingForSerenity · 13/04/2011 22:35

I buy mostly fresh, unprocessed stuff so find very little difference. I have noticed that fruit and veg from Aldi keeps better than the same from Tesco so do wonder if it's fresher

wigglesrock · 13/04/2011 22:35

Lidl does the nicest jam and marmalade ever, ever, oh and fruit chews. Don't have Aldi.

drivingmisscrazy · 13/04/2011 22:36

and I think their dishwasher tabs are really tasty

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 13/04/2011 22:36

I shop anywhere and everywhere, aldi is fine for some things. Tesco is shite, what I can't get in aldi/farm shop I get in Booths or the co-op. Not cheap but edible.

lisad123isasnuttyasaboxoffrogs · 13/04/2011 22:36

well sometimes when you cant afford tesco, any food is better than no food!

flippintired · 13/04/2011 22:36

It's bloody brilliant. tesco is really shite, the most shite of all the supermarkets. I love lidl, reminds me of living in germany ( a bit).

Grumpla · 13/04/2011 22:36

Yabu.

Aldi steak rocks. Nice cheese too.

fedupalready · 13/04/2011 22:37

their frozen peas are quite nice

abbierhodes · 13/04/2011 22:38

Wasn't trying to be nice...and adding NOT to a sentence to confirm you are being sarcastic went out in the early 90s.

Food is food. If you cook properly, your basic ingredients are the same most places. Lots of people have to shop in lower priced supermarkets out of necessity. Tesco are a blood sucking corporation. Do I need to go on explaining why I think YABU?

hardhatdonned · 13/04/2011 22:38

Their frozen deserts are second to none

flippintired · 13/04/2011 22:38

honestly anyone who thinks tesco is good needs their head examined.

YouaretooniceNOT · 13/04/2011 22:40

OK abbierhodes you win

flippintired · 13/04/2011 22:40

Mumofaflump · 13/04/2011 22:40

Aldi do an awesome chocolate bar. Can't remember what it's called but my mum buys me ten every Xmas and birthday!

gordyslovesheep · 13/04/2011 22:40

YABU - their Wine is great and their veg is good - and their rice crisps are devine - Tesco - pah

FantasticDay · 13/04/2011 22:40

Aldi has a good fish range. Fruit and veg are fine.
