To not be at all surprised to hear about the latest celeb affair?

DH was quite surprised to hear about Jeremy Clarkson, but I wasnt. Not at all, infact I am surprised to hear if a famous man hasnt had an affair at some point.

They are famous, rich and away from home alot so are bound to be targetted by a certain type of woman. Also, alot of them are cossetted and looked after to the point where they believe that they can get away with things that us mere mortals cant, despite the fact that the paps are following them all the time.

Am I cynical as DH suggests or is he niave?!

The whole women-staying-with-philandernig--pigs-cos-of-money thing is something I've been contemplating after meeting a philandering pig (footballer) and his GF (wife was at home with DCs) a couple of weeks ago. The GF obviously knows about the wife, seemed really nice, was very cute and I was thinking "would I? Even for money?" and the answer was no. I just couldn't do it.

What I think some of these men want is basically a Big Love scenario. They feel they're rich enough to support more than one wife so why not have one? The wife at home, girlfriend in a flat is essentially that. Jimmy Goldsmith - running several households.

I'm embarrassed to say that I bought the Daily Express yesterday to read thw story and it alleged that they were all together at various points in various locations. Strong implication that Clarkson's mates would have known.

Still waiting to hear what a BAMF is!

Of course it's entirely possible that the wives in question, far from weeping into their pillows, are merrily shagging the pool cleaners, possibly in an open and mutually agreed arrangement.

I can see how James May might like thinking that to himself from time to time. It would help him put up with all the stick he gets on TG. (Yes, they all get and give stick but I think he gets the worst stick, especially from Jezzer.)

Jezzer would be a fool to cross his wife's rules - she made him, she could take him down.
